She Loves Pilates

Pilates is an incredible workout for strengthening and toning your body. She likes to work out with her Poosh co-founder, Sarah Howard. Pilates has a lot of other benefits, as well, like fixing posture and it's not too hard on your body. "Pilates (pronounced Pi-LAH-teez) is a system of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates that strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health. In addition, other benefits to practicing Pilates include:

  • longer, leaner muscles
  • injury prevention
  • relief from stress and back pain
  • enhanced athletic performance
  • heightened mind-body awareness," says the Mayo Clinic.

She Eats Gluten-Free and Organic

Kourtney is often teased for her diet choices by her family, picking out everything organic, opting for sugar-free, gluten-free, dairy-free options, but she really wants to pass on these good habits to her children. She says she really doesn't feel deprived because of all of the options out there.

She Loves Getting Outside

Being outdoors is so beneficial for your mental health, so making time to exercise outside and not always in a gym is important. She does do regular training sessions, of course, but to stay active regularly she goes for long hikes, runs, and swims outside.

She Takes Collagen

Kourtney, along with other celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, our huge supporters of collagen. She mixes hers into water and says that it makes her feel full. "Collagen helps me feel full and balances insulin levels, which can help avoid sugar crashes," says Kourtney. "It also helps my body recover more quickly from my intense workouts by supporting my bones and joints." She Hit The Gym Hard

Kourtney prioritizes about six workouts a week, and she loves doing high intensity interval training workouts usually led by PTs Don Brooks (Don-A-Matrix) or Amanda Lee. HIIT is a fast efficient way to get in an amazing workout fast. "How do you know if you're working hard enough? Level of exertion varies from person to person depending on fitness level. You may be pedaling at the same pace as the person next to you. But while you huff and puff, she's breathing easily. You can measure your level of exertion in a few ways," says the Cleveland Clinic. "The first is to rate the level that you perceive you are working on a scale from 0 (rest) to 10 (maximum effort). Using the talk test, at high intensity you should only be able to speak a few words at a time."
