She Does A Variety Of Different Workouts
Cavallari opened up about some of her lifestyle and wellness secrets in an interview with Us Weekly. She says that her fitness routine includes a lot of different things, and that she likes to try new exercises and classes. "I lift weights, but I do circuit training to keep my heart rate up. I also started doing hot yoga every once in a while. I don't do it as often as I would like, but I love it when I'm able to make it happen."
She Eats An Early Dinner With Her Family
Cavallari and her family like to eat meals together. However, she says that she prefers having dinner as soon as possible, as it helps her to sleep and avoid midnight snacks. "I eat with my kids every night at 5:15 p.m.," she told Us Weekly. "I find that I sleep better when I eat early like that. And I eat enough so that I'm not hungry before I go to bed."
She Eats Mostly Organic Food
"The way I eat is a lifestyle," she explained. "Organic as often as possible, tons of veggies, meat, nuts and seeds, complex carbs like buckwheat soba noodles, berries, tons of fat — I even eat butter." What does 100 percent organic mean? "This description is used on certified organic fruits, vegetables, eggs, meat or other single-ingredient foods. It may also be used on multi-ingredient foods if all of the ingredients are certified organic, excluding salt and water. These may have a USDA seal," says the Mayo Clinic.
She Loves To Cook
"I make dinner 90 percent of the time. I think that's important because that's the only way to truly know what's in your food," she said. Cavallari also says that she likes to make healthier versions of food for her family. "My kids love pasta. We use brown rice noodles or lentil noodles."
She's Motivated By Results
One of the most important things you need to be able to workout consistently is motivation. For Cavallari, her motivation comes from results. She says to Us Weekly, "Seeing results makes me want to push harder and gets me excited in the gym. I can honestly say my butt has gotten a lot bigger from being consistent in the gym, working on it for the past year. These results don't happen overnight. It's important to be patient and stay the course."
She Packs Healthy Food When She Travels
It can be difficult to eat healthy while traveling and on the road, especially if you're on a plane. However, Cavallari has a trick to eat healthy when she's flying, and it doesn't involve eating gross airplane food. She tells Forbes that she packs healthy snacks whenever she's on the roat. "No matter where I'm going, if it's a plane ride that's an hour and a half, or if it's 14 hours, I am bringing food with me. So that means I'm packing a meal like a salad. Or, I've brought leftovers on airplanes, made sandwiches, and then I bring a ton of snacks like Lorissa's Kitchen beef strips. I was just in Colorado this past weekend, and I brought sandwiches for my kids and a salad for me."
She Looks Up Healthy Local Restaurants
Cavallari tells Forbes that she makes sure that she still eats healthy and organic when she travels. She says that she likes to search for healthy local restaurants when she goes to a new place. "Wherever your destination, it's really about looking online and finding healthy spots. I'll sit on Google for hours trying to find great restaurants and cool coffee shops and juice bars."
