Kristin doesn’t have a self-punishing approach to health and wellness. “It’s important to give ourselves grace and not beat ourselves up,” she told Us. “For so many years in my early 20s, I was all or nothing. I have the best relationship I’ve ever had with food and health because I’ve let go of a lot of that control. It’s about consistency — just keep showing up.”

2. Do Train Yourself

Lots of stars rely on personal trainers to keep them in shape, but no Kristin. “I lift weights, but I do circuit training to keep my heart rate up. I also started doing hot yoga every once in a while. I don’t do it as often as I would like, but I love it when I’m able to make it happen,” she told Us.

One of Kristin’s main eating rules? Avoiding food later in the evening. “I eat with my kids every night at 5:15 p.m.,” she told Us. “I find that I sleep better when I eat early like that. And I eat enough so that I’m not hungry before I go to bed.”

Kristin avoids processed foods, eating “as close to its natural state” as possible. “The way I eat is a lifestyle. Organic as often as possible, tons of veggies, meat, nuts and seeds, complex carbs like buckwheat soba noodles, berries, tons of fat — I even eat butter.” She added that white foods are punished in her home. "We don't do anything white, so we don't do white flour, white sugar, or white salt," she told Women's Health. "We definitely are a meat family. I've never been vegan or vegetarian; I don't think I could be. We actually have a freezer full of meat with all kinds of wild game."

5. Do Cook Your Own Meals

Kristin has another healthy eating hack: Cook your own food. “I make dinner 90 percent of the time. I think that’s important because that’s the only way to truly know what’s in your food,” she told Us. When she does eat out, she allows herself to order what she wants. “When I go out to eat or go on vacation, I eat whatever I want and then I really enjoy it.”

Kristin doesn’t want to look too lean. “I like having some muscle definition without being bulky or looking ‘jacked,'” she explained to Us. “Seeing results makes me want to push harder and gets me excited in the gym. I can honestly say my butt has gotten a lot bigger from being consistent in the gym, working on it for the past year. These results don’t happen overnight. It’s important to be patient and stay the course.”

In an interview with The School Of Greatness podcast, Cavallari opened up about her divorce from Jay Cutler. She says that she is learning a lot from this experience, mainly that she is not afraid of bad things happening to her. “I was taking the time, really feeling everything that I needed to feel before I was able to really move on,” she says. “I’m no longer afraid of getting hurt. I’ve sort of gotten to a place where if things don’t work out, I’m okay with that because I know something better is coming down the line.”

2. She’s Worked On Herself

Cavallari opened up about dating post-divorce on her The School Of Greatness episode. She says that she has done a lot of work on herself, and that she thinks it will translate to a new relationship. “I’m actually excited to see who I can be in a new relationship,” Cavallari said. “I feel like I’ve done so much work the last few years. “How do you keep bronze?” fans asked. “I can thank my dad for my Italian skin for that,” she answered. “I hate spray tans, you’ll never see me in a tanning bed. I tan very easily and can keep a tan for a long time.” “The bottom line is that there's no such thing as a healthy tan, unless it's an artificial tan that comes from a spray or lotion,” says the Mayo Clinic. A spray tan is a decent choice. “The active ingredient in spray tans and other sunless tanning products, such as lotions and creams, is the color additive dihydroxyacetone. When applied to the skin, it reacts with dead cells in the skin's surface to temporarily darken the skin and simulate a tan. The coloring typically wears off after a few days.”

Will she ever get Botox or filler, her fans asked. “I really don’t think I will. I don’t mind that I have some linea and I’m super-animated so I need my face to move,” she said, adding a “laugh” emoji. “Botox injections are noted primarily for the ability to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles.
