Ever since she was a teenager on Laguna Beach, Kristin Cavallari has maintained one of the most celebrated bodies on reality television. Now a mother-of-three and entrepreneur living in Franklin, Tennessee, the jewelry designer is living her best and healthiest life. On Tuesday, during an Instagram Q & A, the 35-year-old revealed all of her diet secrets to her 4.4 million followers, including the exact breakfast, lunch, and dinner she eats on a daily basis. 1. She Eats Food to Stay Thin

According to Kristin, starving yourself to get thin isn’t a good idea because it messes up your metabolism. “So I think the most important thing is that you actually have to eat food,” she explains in the first clip. “There's a misconception that if you don't eat a lot of food, you're gonna be skinny. I think it's the opposite. I think you have to really work on your metabolism.”
2. Her Breakfast Is Packed with Protein
Kristin starts her day with a protein packed meal. “For breakfast, I'll do a smoothie. I'll do eggs with sauteed spinach or arugula or something, goat cheese, maybe avocado,” she explains in the video. “Or I'll do like overnight oats or something like that.”
3. For Lunch, She Eats a Healthy Salad

A typical lunch for Kristin? “I love a big salad,” she confessed. “I always have to make sure there's protein in it. I'll do like a deconstructed cobb salad or a Greek salad, something like that, where I'll do leftovers, which is usually protein and veggies.” She also shared a photo of her go-to Greek salad, consisting of cucumber, tomato, red onion, olives, feta cheese, chicken, and tzatziki sauce.
4. Dinner Is Protein, Veggies, and Carbs
Kristin keeps it simple for her final meal of the day. “Dinner is typically a protein of some sort, always a vegetable. I'm big on veggies,” she says. “I've also been doing more carbs in the last few months. A few of her favorites? Sweet potatoes, brown rice, black rice.
5. She Snacks Healthy

Kristin also snacks throughout the day. “I do fruit. I do hummus. I do lots of beef jerky. Nuts and stuff,” she says. She also loves drunken goat cheese that she gets at Whole Foods. “It's the best cheese on the planet and it's a goat cheese, but it doesn't taste like it. It's really good,” she says about the Merlot soaked cheese.
6. She Reads Ingredients, Not Calories or Fat

Kristin has a trick when reading food labels. Because she focuses her diet on foods that are “real” she reads ingredients, not numbers. “Never look at calories or fat or anything like that,” she says.
7. She Indulges
In the photo of her Greek salad, Kristin also revealed that she allows herself to indulge. “When I travel and go out to eat, I eat whatever I want and enjoy every second. I NEVER beat myself up. It’s all about balance.”
8. She Avoids Intermittent Fasting

So, is Kristin one of the many stars who swear by the keto diet and intermittent fasting? “I have in the past,” she reveals. “I honestly think both of those things completely mess up your metabolism.
9. She Drinks Mindfully
“I know it seems like I drink a lot but I actually hardly do,” she revealed when asked about her drinking. “Usually I drink 1-2 times per week but sometimes not at all. I try to be really mindful of it. I do a healthy red wine (low sugar, low sulfites) or tequila soda with jalapenos and lime juice,” she said.
