1. Don't Ever Take Your Health For Granted

“Don’t take it for granted,” Lara stated during an interview with Parade after they asked what her biggest health lesson is to date. “Just because I was always in great shape, doesn’t mean I can rest on my laurels. Life is precious and our bodies need to be cared for every day.”
2. She Practices Yoga Throughout The Year

“I turn to yoga, preferably in a warm room, during the cold months,” Lara said while discussing her workouts with Parade. Spencer says she does yoga year round but primarily in the fall and winter.” Yoga leads to countless health benefits according to the Mayo Clinic. “Yoga is a wonderful form of exercise that provides benefits that walking or strength training don't provide,” stated on the Mayo Clinic Q and A: The health benefits of yoga. “In Eastern cultures, yoga is not seen as exercise, but rather "a moving meditation." 3. She Plays Tennis To Break A Sweat
Lara loves tennis and wishes she discovered it sooner. “Tennis is my favorite way to unwind and it’s a great family activity,” Lara says. She plays year round and has really taken a liking to the sport. “I am on a USTA team and just got bumped up to a 4.0 rating so I am really excited,” Lara said. “As a former athlete, Lara says she loves the competition. “I play both singles and doubles and would play every day if I could! I wish I had known about tennis as a kid. Unlike platform diving, it’s a sport I can play for the rest of my life.”
4. She Still Loves To Swim

After her days as a diver, she still very much enjoys swimming. "I enjoy swimming laps—it's a great workout and also allows me to get into a meditative state so it's very relaxing. I love the quiet and the rhythm of swimming," Lara mentioned to Parade.
5. She Channels Her Core Through Paddle Boarding

“I am really into paddle boarding at the moment, too,” Lara said to Parade when she was explaining her love of yoga. ”It’s an incredible workout for the arms and core, and a great way to get out on the water.” Paddle Boarding requires strength and balance, leading to wonderful health benefits.
