Graniello loves fresh coconut and coconut water. "Coconut water is popular for rehydration after exercise or during mild illness," says Katherine Zeratsky, RD, LD. "It's true that coconut water has electrolytes, such as potassium, sodium and manganese. The amounts vary by brand."

Swimming In the Ocean

Graniello enjoys swimming in the ocean, which is not only relaxing but good for you. "Swimming works the heart and lungs," says Harvard Health. "This trains the body to use oxygen more efficiently, which is generally reflected in declines in the resting heart rate and breathing rate. It uses the arms, the legs, and other muscle groups in between. This improves muscle strength and flexibility."

3

Skiing

Graniello learned how to ski in 2019 and says it's never too late to try. "When you ski you carry the weight of your entire body on your feet," says the University of New Hampshire. "Your knees are the joints that endure that weight and must be able to move quickly despite it, so they are being strengthened when you ski."

4

Impromptu Workouts

Graniello loves working out whenever she gets a chance, no scheduling required. "Regular trips to the gym are great, but don't worry if you can't find a large chunk of time to exercise every day," says the Mayo Clinic. "Any amount of activity is better than none at all. To reap the benefits of exercise, just get more active throughout your day — take the stairs instead of the elevator or rev up your household chores. Consistency is key."

5

Bonding With Her Pets

Graniello loves her small dog, and features it frequently on her social media. "Perhaps one of the greatest psychological benefits of interacting with a dog is the opportunity it provides to be more mindful — to purposely focus your attention on the present moment," says Harvard Health. "Mindfulness is a lifelong practice that can help you to better appreciate simple everyday experiences like being physically active with your dog. By learning to focus on the here and now, you may find yourself less likely to get caught up in worries or regrets."
