1. She Loves Peruvian Food
Riquelme was thrilled to try the local cuisine on a trip to Peru, especially the grilled chicken and Inka Kola soda. “This is one of the most typical drinks in Peru,” she says. “I already tried it in Paraguay and ordered it again now, it is delicious. And this is grilled chicken, we know it as spiedo chicken. We ordered fries and green salad. I ate everything, I ate my life. The chicken is delicious, the potatoes are special, although visually for us it is the same. But they tell us that in Peru there are different types of potatoes.”
2. She Uses Hair Oil
Riquelme keeps her hair in tip-top shape by using hair oil. When used correctly, hair oil has many benefits, experts say. Using hair oil has “a multi-dimensional effect”, says Dr Rohini Wadhwani of Skin Essentials. “It helps by increasing the tensile strength of the hair, reducing the frizziness and preventing breakage.”
3. She Takes Collagen Supplements
Riquelme likes to add collagen supplements to her wellness regimen. “Collagen benefits your joints, tendons, and ligaments by allowing them to glide and move with ease — much like how oil benefits a car!” says Amy Myers, MD. “With age, and as your collagen production depletes, your joints can become stiff, swollen and painful, even causing a lack of mobility. Collagen contains the amino acids glycine and proline, which help to support joint mobility and a healthy inflammatory response.”
4. She Loves Cardio Machines
Riquelme loves to work up a good sweat on her gym cardio equipment. Cardio has many health benefits, experts say. “Try getting in a 30-minute workout five or more days a week that raises your heart rate for the duration of the activity,” says clinical exercise physiologist Erik Van Iterson, PhD, MS. “Or try three, 10-minute workouts, five or more days a week.”
5. She Drinks Orange Juice
Riquelme likes to hydrate with delicious orange juice, especially in the winter. “It’s well known that citrus, and notably oranges, are rich in vitamin C, which has valuable antioxidant properties and helps protect cells from damage,” says registered nutritionist Nicola Shubrook. “They’re also high in carotenoids including beta-cryptoxanthin, which the body converts to vitamin A, and the blood orange provides lycopene.”
