She Focuses on Her Muscle Groups
"My workouts are broken up into categories based on muscle group," she told the Chicago Sun-Times a few years back. "I go to the gym five times a week when my schedule permits. My favorite workouts? Dumbbell lunges for glutes; side and floor planks for the core; and pole dancing classes for strength and resistance."
This is What She Eats
"I start my mornings with a green juice or protein shake to kickstart my metabolism," she told the Chicago Sun-Times. "Between meals, I'll munch on my kinds' snacks: fruit mixes, pretzels or gluten-free granola. Lunch is grilled ginger mahi mahi over brown rice and a side of mixed veggies. I let the kids decide on dinner by giving them healthy options. Their favorites are grilled turkey sliders, three-layer cottage cheese lasagna and homemade gluten-free pizza."
She Tries to Balance Her Intake
Larsa doesn't go for complicated diets. "If you want to lose a couple of pounds, you have to eat a little bit less," Larsa adds. "That's the only thing that's gonna work for life, because you can do all these diets, you can start them, but I don't feel like you can live that [way] forever. When you stop doing these diets and you go back to what you normally are used to, you're going to have the same results that you had before. It's a lifestyle of balance – eating right, feeling good about yourself, working out for your mind, your body, your soul. It's all connected," she told HollywoodLife.
She Limits Carbs
Give up sugar and you'll start taking control of your weight immediately. Reducing your intake of calorie-dense sugar carbs automatically reduces the amount of calories you're consuming on a daily basis, which forces your body to burn fat stored around your midsection for energy, rather than the sugars it takes from carbohydrates.
She Does HIIT
High Intensity Interval Training has been proven to help your health. "A Mayo Clinic study says the best training for adults is high-intensity aerobic exercise, which they believe can reverse some cellular aspects of aging," says Urology of Virginia. One study shows HIIT can also lower your blood pressure and another study shows it can improve your cardiometabolic health. "The mild-HIIT protocol seems to be useful for at least maintaining the body weight among sedentary individuals."
