Leah Messer is best known for starring in an episode of the MTV docu-series, 16 and Pregnant. She then became a main cast member on the spin-offs, Teen Mom 2 and Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. Messer just shared a stunning new reel on Instagram. In it, she posed in different swimsuits, her figure on display. Messer captioned the post, “It’s almost that time, summer time ⛅️ & Mom’s wear bikinis too! 😉 What’s your favorite brands for bathing suits?! Let me know in the comments.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Leah Messer stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She’s All About Self-Care

Messer tells People that she likes to practice self-care on a regular basis. "I think self-care for everyone looks completely different," she explains. "So if it's a spa day, if it's meditating, if it's hiking, really the way that I ground myself is through Earth. Whether that's taking walks or hiking, or I really love spa days too. And music — music feeds my soul. It just does."

2. She Makes Time For Herself

Messer has a busy life. From work to her children, she doesn’t always have free time. However, she always makes free time a priority. "I think it's so important that we take time out for ourselves,” she tells People. “And have a good support system and your friends. I think it's huge."

3. She Does Lunges

Messer makes sure to workout. And she doesn’t skip leg day. She shared this video on Instagram of herself at the gym. In it, she is seen doing squat lunge walks with a high knee. She captioned the post, “Keep showing up and the results will come.” Ace Fitness states that lower body workouts are important, and they cite lunges as an effective one. “If you’re in the market to strengthen and sculpt your lower body, while also functionally preparing to tackle the activities of everyday life—like walking and climbing up stairs— with greater ease, the lunge should be an essential part of your workout routine.”

4. She Weight Trains

Messer likes to weight train to stay in shape. In the previous Instagram video, she is seen doing lunges with a dumbbell. The Mayo Clinic states that weight training has a lot of benefits. “Strength training can reduce the signs and symptoms of many chronic conditions, such as arthritis, back pain, obesity, heart disease, depression and diabetes…Some research suggests that regular strength training and aerobic exercise may help improve thinking and learning skills for older adults.”

5. She Has Good Intentions

In an interview on the Gold and Blue podcast, Messer opened up about how she approaches relationships with others. “I think right now in my life, it would be my social life. Like knowing who's around for the right reasons and not the right reasons. But I go with the motto that I know in any space, I'm going in with pure intentions. So whatever the outcome is, is the outcome at the end of the day. Like I know I'm going in with a good heart, the right intentions.”

Clothing designer and Real Housewives of New York star Leah McSweeney is in Jamaica. And she just shared a lot of stunning photos on Instagram, including one of herself in a pink swimsuit. McSweeney captioned the post, “A thirst trap and a slice of heaven in my fav place, with my fav people BLESS UP!” How does she stay so fit? 1. She Loves To Box

McSweeney revealed on the Bravo podcast, The Daily Dish, that she loves to box. She even says that boxing has helped her prepare for all the drama and craziness of being a Real Housewife. “I mean, it’s such a psychological and mental strengthening exercise. It definitely helped me prepare.”

2. She’s Sober

"Not All Diamonds and Rosé: The Inside Story of The Real Housewives from the People Who Lived It" Book Launch PartyJamie McCarthy/Getty Images

In an interview with Yahoo Life, McSweeney revealed that she was sober, and had thought about making the choice to do so for a while. She said that the pandemic and lockdowns helped her make the choice to get sober. "I realized that it was gonna just go so dark so quick," she says. "…It's very hard to drink in a light and fun way during a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic when you’re stuck at home, and people are dying everywhere. So yeah, I think that that kind of definitely put it in a full-speed stop."

3. Her Take on Fame

“I’m kind of the same [since becoming a Housewife]. I’m the same, but my life is a little different. It doesn’t feel like anything is different, but I know it is. I am still shocked that people recognize me. I always think that it’s someone I know when they’re looking at me and they say, ‘Hi’—like I know them from somewhere. Obviously, I think the show gave my life a boost. I needed a little boost and that’s what it did. I will say that I am a lot busier than I have been in a while, but all good stuff,” she told NewBeauty.

4. She Has a Book Coming Up About Mental Health

“I think that one of the best parts about being on the show has been being able to reach people and to have conversations about different topics, like mental health,” she told NewBeauty. She was diagnosed with bipolar II. “I was stunned when it got brought up on the show. but in hindsight, I’m so happy it did. My book”—Chaos Theory: How to Embrace the Unexpected and Find Meaning in the Madness, coming out in April—“it’s going to cover a lot of that stuff, too. I feel like we have been in a collective mental health crisis…our world is upside down on so many levels, but I think that the conversation has been brought to the forefront. There’s still so much stigma around it, though. I think we still have a long way to go.”

5. She Has Done Anti-Workouts

“I just started posting these little work out videos to help me motivate myself to work out,” McSweeney, 37, told Page Six. “I called them ‘anti-influencer’ workouts because I am not a fitness influencer nor do I care to be.” These “non-workout workouts” involve yoga poses, too. “I’m not a professional,” she told us. “I’m just a regular chick trying to not let herself go during the quarantine.”

1. She Takes Ice Baths

On The Ellen Show, Scherzinger revealed she loves taking ice baths. “I love ice baths, it’s so good for your body but for me, it sharpens the mind like iron,' she said. 'It’s all mental for me, I have to put on some music and go into a zone,” she said. "Cold water immersion involves people immersing themselves in water at temperatures of less than 15°C to manage muscle soreness after exercise and speed up recovery time. There is some evidence to show that cold-water immersion reduces muscle soreness at 24-72 hours after exercise compared with ‘passive’ treatment, or rest. It is here that the research falls down slightly by not comparing the use of cold-water immersion to an active recovery of light exercise, or perhaps even more pertinently, a combination of the two," says the Mayo Clinic.

2. She “Sexercises” with Her Boyfriend

He loves to work out, he keeps me motivated, and I motivate us on the videos.”

3. She Works Out a Lot

4. She Refuses to Starve Herself

For dinner, anything from pasta to rice, and meats and veggies, to sushi. When I’m going to indulge, I love pasta, pizza, I love Mexican with lots of cheese. I love French fries, or crisps - salt and vinegar crisps. In terms of snacks: almonds, coconut water, bits of coconut, baby carrots,” she told Women’s Health.

Water Skiing

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
