She's All About Self-Care

Messer tells People that she likes to practice self-care on a regular basis. "I think self-care for everyone looks completely different," she explains. "So if it's a spa day, if it's meditating, if it's hiking, really the way that I ground myself is through Earth. Whether that's taking walks or hiking, or I really love spa days too. And music — music feeds my soul. It just does."

She Makes Time For Herself

Messer has a busy life. From work to her children, she doesn't always have free time. However, she always makes free time a priority. "I think it's so important that we take time out for ourselves," she tells People. "And have a good support system and your friends. I think it's huge."

She Does Lunges

Messer makes sure to workout. And she doesn't skip leg day. She shared this video on Instagram of herself at the gym. In it, she is seen doing squat lunge walks with a high knee. She captioned the post, "Keep showing up and the results will come." Ace Fitness states that lower body workouts are important, and they cite lunges as an effective one. "If you're in the market to strengthen and sculpt your lower body, while also functionally preparing to tackle the activities of everyday life—like walking and climbing up stairs— with greater ease, the lunge should be an essential part of your workout routine."

She Weight Trains

Messer likes to weight train to stay in shape. In the previous Instagram video, she is seen doing lunges with a dumbbell. The Mayo Clinic states that weight training has a lot of benefits. "Strength training can reduce the signs and symptoms of many chronic conditions, such as arthritis, back pain, obesity, heart disease, depression and diabetes…Some research suggests that regular strength training and aerobic exercise may help improve thinking and learning skills for older adults."

She Has Good Intentions

In an interview on the Gold and Blue podcast, Messer opened up about how she approaches relationships with others. "I think right now in my life, it would be my social life. Like knowing who's around for the right reasons and not the right reasons. But I go with the motto that I know in any space, I'm going in with pure intentions. So whatever the outcome is, is the outcome at the end of the day. Like I know I'm going in with a good heart, the right intentions."
