Loni was late to the fitness game. “I didn’t get into a regular exercise routine until my late 30s,” she confessed to Parade. “I could eat donuts and malted milk balls and didn’t gain a pound because genetics was on my side. I was an unfit skinny person. Now I do cardio three times a week, and also weight training, plus I walk a lot—I don’t run because of a back injury. I lifted a rock and ruptured a disk in the past.”

2. Her Diet Is Healthy

Loni focuses on eating clean, whole foods. “I’m eating a version of the Mediterranean and Paleo Diets,” she explained to Parade. “I don’t eat red meat any longer, but do eat some chicken and fish, lots of fruits and vegetables, and nothing in a can or a box.”

3. She Indulges On Occasion

Loni allows herself a cheat meal every once and awhile, and nothing is off limits! “I don’t say, ‘I won’t eat THAT because I never say never,’” she told Parade. “I might eat a candy bar.”

4. She Doesn’t Drink Alcohol

Loni stays away from the hard stuff. “I don’t drink alcohol—occasionally a glass of champagne,” she revealed to Parade.

5. She Embraces Her Sex Symbol Status

“I never thought I would be Loni Anderson, sex symbol. But I embrace it,” she told Fox News. “I think I was lucky enough to have been able to play so many different things and sex symbol was a part of it. I took whatever my career threw at me. So I embrace it. And my granddaughters think it’s a hoot!”

6. Her Advice: Enjoy Every Single Day

Loni has one piece of wisdom when it comes to life: “Don’t keep looking forward to what’s coming, enjoy the climb," she told Fox News. “There’s nothing more wonderful than the climb, you know? The looking forward to each day and creating something new, getting that job, going on an audition, putting yourself out there - that's all great. But you can’t forget to enjoy the climb. I guess that’s the best thing you could do when it comes to your life. Don’t forget to enjoy the day while you’re looking forward to what’s going to happen next week.”

1. Jennifer Lopez

"I'm in the best shape of my life," Jennifer Lopez, 52, recently admitted in a May 2021 cover story for InStyle's The Beauty Issue. While she’s always been a fitness inspiration, her workouts have become more efficient as she has aged. "In my 20s and 30s I used to work out but not like I do now," she revealed. "It's not that I work out more; I just work out harder and smarter. And it doesn't take me as long as it did in the past. I do it more for my health than I do for looks, which is funny. When you do things for the right reasons, you actually look better!"

2. Heather Graham

Heather Graham, 51, revealed a few of her stay-fit secrets to Refinery29. Not only does she avoid complex carbohydrates—white flour and sugar—but she does a lot of yoga (sometimes multiple workouts a day) and pilates.

3. Demi Moore

Demi Moore, a longtime yogi, recently upped her workout game with the help of at-home workout classes via The Mirror. The 58-year-old also enjoys going on hikes with her family, eats healthy, and doesn’t drink alcohol or do drugs.

4. Catherine Zeta-Jones

Unlike pretty much every other Hollywood star, Catherine Zeta-Jones, 51, doesn’t have a personal trainer. Instead, the Welsh actress trains herself. “I don’t have a trainer. Crazy, right? But I don’t need anyone to motivate me,” she told InStyle. “I love exercise, even things like the elliptical machine and stretching. It’s a legacy of dancing all those years.” According to Catherine she works “at least 45 minutes a day, seven days a week” with some of her favorite workouts being swimming, tennis, peloton, and tap dancing.

5. Paulina Porzikova

Supermodel Paulina Porzikova, 56, didn’t start exercising until she was 40, but now breaks a sweat almost daily. “I try to exercise at least 3-5 days a week. And you know what? I frickin hate it,” she recently revealed in one of her workout videos. “I don’t like to sweat and huff and puff and hurt. If sitting on a couch, eating cake, drinking wine and reading did the same for me as exercise, there would be no contest. BUT. I have come to find out that ‘working out’ is that perfect little pill everyone is looking for. It makes you feel good, look good, good for your brain and body - a small miracle that has to be paid of by a little discomfort.” Her favorite workouts include dancing, rowing, and pilates.

6. Kelly Ripa

Kelly Ripa, 50, refuses to skip a workout "I work out seven days a week," she told In the Know. "And I try to workout an hour and a half a day, no matter what — whether I'm working or not. If I'm working, maybe I'll start it a little bit later or a little bit earlier, depending on what day of the week it is. But I am very religious about my fitness."

7. Salma Hayek

While Salma Hayek, 54, has revealed a number of times that she hates to work out, she does stay moving and has also discovered a creative way to engage her muscles. "Some people have the discipline to exercise in the morning, and I didn't develop that," she told People. "I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long. So even when you brush your teeth, you're working the muscles," she continued. "It's restorative yoga. She taught me how to tone [my muscles] without clenching them. You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension. If you're aware of your body, you'd be surprised by the effect it can have."

8. Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston has always maintained one of the fittest bodies in Hollywood, mostly due to her devotion to healthy diet and exercise. She once revealed to InStyle that she works out “almost every day, at least five or six days a week." And “variety is key” when it comes to the 52-year-old’s workout. "Mixing it up is always fun because that way you know you're excited, and it's muscle confusion. It keeps your body awake," she told Women’s Health. Her favorite workouts include cycling, yoga, barre method, Body by Simone and more recently, boxing. "It's the longest workout I've actually stayed with consistently other than yoga," she told InStyle. "There's something about the mental aspect of boxing — the drills, your brain has to work, you're not just sitting on a bike. It's amazing."

9. Elizabeth Hurley

Elizabeth Hurley, 56, doesn’t work out. “I don’t exercise, but I am very active,” she admitted to Harper’s Bazaar. She clarified to Us Weekly in October 2018 that she stays in shape by “being active” which includes “going for walks, stretching, maybe a little yoga or a little Pilates. But I don’t like high impact, high energy sports. I don’t actually think they do you much good. As long as you get your heart rate to the rate you need it to get, which is a fast walk. But you need to do a bit of it.” She does count steps, however, “I walk every day, so I try and hit my 10,000 steps a day and I do some stretching every day. And then sometimes I do a bit more, but that’s enough for me really.”

10. Cindy Crawford

cindy-crawford-instagramCindy Crawford/Instagram

Cindy Crawford, 55, might not be making workout videos these days, but she is still engaging in regular strength and weight training workouts, posting her clips on social media. She also boxes with her husband, golfs, and surfs. She recently told Red magazine that her workouts have evolved from her supermodel days. Instead of working out until she drops, she takes it easier. “Now my goal is not to get hurt. So, I have added a lot more stretching and Pilates, and I don’t feel as compelled to do those tough workouts any more,” she said.

11. Halle Berry

For Halle Berry, 54, fitness is simply a part of her lifestyle. You just have to have the will and the desire. And you have to make up your mind that it's important. That's the hard work that people “always been fit, and have always thought about fitness and taking care of my body,” her approach has evolved. “It's only changed in terms of how I've been adding to my fitness regimen. It used to just be working out with weights, and then I got into Pilates, and then I got into yoga, and now I'm into martial arts."

12. Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone, 63, stays incredibly active and switches up her workouts. "Every time I exercise, I do something different based on which areas need to get in motion," she told Shape. This includes four to five times a week workouts, combining pilates, total-body stretches, strength training, yoga, and dance. She also avoids alcohol and caffeine and eats incredibly healthy, avoiding gluten.

In this iconic decade, female celebrities weren't just screen sirens and chart-toppers; they became emblems of health and beauty, inspiring millions. From Molly Ringwald's quintessential girl-next-door charm in "The Breakfast Club" to Gloria Estefan's pulsating Miami Sound Machine rhythms, these women dominated the decade. This feature spotlights 15 extraordinary '80s female celebrities, revealing their secrets to maintaining remarkable bodies and radiant health. It's a nostalgic journey through fitness tips, dietary habits, and wellness philosophies that echo the unique spirit of the '80s.

1. Molly Ringwald

Molly Ringwald starred in some of the ‘80s most popular movies, like The Breakfast Club. She shared some of her favorite skincare tips with The Irish Independent. “Now I’m on the hunt for the perfect sunscreen. It’s like the holy grail: finding one that works but doesn’t clog your skin. Right now, I really like this tinted one by Eve Lom. It doesn’t feel masky. I even wear it out at night."

2. Gloria Estefan

Singer Gloria Estefan is a believer in balance when it comes to diet. She tells Parade, “I’m all about balance. In the 44 years that Emilio and I have been married, we’ve never opened a bottle of wine, just him and I, alone at home at dinner. I love wine, but it’s a social thing for us. So, if we go out and have a nice dinner, we absolutely will indulge. But if I can avoid the calories at home, I do. If I’m out with my family, we’re on vacation and I want to have dessert or eat some pasta, I will. I’m not so hard on myself because life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. I want to avoid any extreme that is going to make me have to cut anything out permanently from my life. So that’s the way I’ve lived.”

3. Michelle Pfeiffer

Actress Michelle Pfeiffer shared her approach to aging in an interview with People. She says that she doesn’t stress out about it. “I certainly see that I’ve changed,” she said. “I just try not to dwell on it. Aging happens to every single one of us. Once you accept that it unburdens you…All I really care about is that I'm able to age gracefully and that I don't ever look like a wax figure of myself.”

4. Heather Locklear

In the ‘80s, Heather Locklear starred in Dynasty. She shared some of her fitness secrets in an interview with Parade. "I do resistance training three times a week. That really helps with defying gravity and keeping things in place. I have light weights to do reps with both my arms and legs. I do cardio a couple times a week on the treadmill, with the music blasting. It's what gets me through."

5. Cindy Crawford

Supermodel Cindy Crawford shared her diet secrets with Allure. She says that she believes in having a small indulgence each day. "At the end of lunch, I always have a small piece of dark chocolate — it tells my body that I'm done with my meal. In my experience, if you're craving something and deny yourself, you wind up eating five other things, and then you eat the thing you're craving anyway.”

6. Brooke Shields

Brooke Shields is an actress and model, best known for modeling for Calvin Klein in 1980. She shared her skincare secrets in an interview with Glamour. “We don't really think of our skin as an organ, but it is the largest organ of the body,” she says. “So as I got older, I started enjoying the ritual or the idea that it's not a chore to take care of your skin…it's a privilege. It doesn't have to be 20 minutes. It can be seven minutes.”

7. Cyndi Lauper

Los,Angeles,-,Dec,12:,Cyndi,Lauper,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Cyndi Lauper is responsible for some of the ‘80s most memorable pop songs. She released “Time After Time” and “True Colors” in the decade. Lauper has psoriasis, and has had to change her diet for that reason. She opened up about this to Parade. “I used to eat what I wanted, but as my psoriasis got worse, I knew I couldn’t have spicy or fatty foods, alcohol or gluten that might cause flare-ups. I am trying to quit sugar, too. When I eat salad or something raw, I just feel better.”

8. Elle MacPherson

Elle MacPherson is one of the most successful models of all time. Her skin is amazing, and she makes sure to take care of it. She shared some of her tips with GetTheGloss, and says that hydration is one of her biggest secrets. “I drink three litres of water every day and start each morning with warm water, lemon and ginger, and two capsules of The Skin Elixir with water. I leave the jar of skin caps next to my toothbrush to remind me to take them. I take two teaspoons of The Super Elixir TM ️ greens in water in the morning too. Following this, I’ll spray Ion Skin Support mist each morning to reduce redness and skin damage and then spend 15 minutes in the sun to top up my vitamin D levels.”

9. Christie Brinkley

Christie Brinkley is one of the ‘80s most popular supermodels. She appeared in Billy Joel’s video for “Uptown Girl.” She revealed to New York Magazine that she has started avoiding diets. "I tried some pretty weird diets in the beginning,” Brinkley admits. “Everything from juice fasting to eating one kind of food at a time, to eating a grapefruit first before everything. The only thing that really lasts is a well-balanced diet."

10. Paula Abdul

Paula Abdul rose to prominence in the ‘80s, with hits like “Cold Hearted” and “Opposites Attract.” She shared her secrets for getting through long shows and rehearsals with People. “I do a lot of stretching,” she says. “When I’m with my trainer I’m doing Pilates, I’m doing a lot of back and core work. Even though I’m dancing all day I often do straight cardio just so that I’m conditioning my body. And after each performance I usually get in an ice-cold tub. It’s not fun! It shocks your body, but it helps with inflammation.”

11. Vanessa Williams

Vanessa Williams tells First For Women that she has a strong support system around her that she turns to. “As women, we are a community,” she says. “So don’t be afraid to ask for advice or help, and to look for a mentor. I’ve learned that there are many people who are willing to be teachers to help you along if you ask. On this Earth, we have setbacks, struggles and obstacles, but I think I’m here to learn how to keep moving ahead. You have to be able to say, ‘What is this experience teaching me?’ so you can move through it and move on in your life. Avoiding something or denying it won’t get you anywhere— but if you learn from it, you can find so much freedom on the other side.”

12. Linda Hamilton

Shutterstock

Linda Hamilton starred in the hit film Terminator. She also returned to the franchise, and talked about her process to InStyle. “Mackie Shilstone was my fantastic trainer. He’s a legend and crosses over into every sport. And he understands the body in motion. Peyton Manning has even trained with Shilstone to prepare for the Super Bowl. I got to work with him because Serena Williams was pregnant. It was a wonderful accident of timing. Yes, we lifted and pumped weight and cross-trained; there were Pilates, supplements, and a diet. I didn’t eat carbohydrates for a year and a half. But everything Shilstone did with me was in motion.”

13. Demi Moore

Demi Moore rose to prominence in the ‘80s. She appeared in films like St. Elmo’s Fire and About Last Night… and was a member of the Brat Pack. For Moore, wellness is a priority. “For me, well-being is a choice of living consciously with intention, being mindful and making choices that are memorable and meaningful,” she tells CNN. “It isn’t something I fit into my lifestyle; it’s just how I live my life.”

14. Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone starred in ‘80s films like Cold Steel and Above The Law. She became one of the decade’s sex symbols. Stone revealed in an interview with Vogue that she weight trains to stay in shape. “I do all my 'arm jazz' with these lead weights. Pushing upwards for 15 minutes with a lead weight in your hand makes a lot of difference. I have little arm strap-on weight bracelets too, and I put them on while I'm on my computer or at my desk and just leave them on all day because you'd be amazed how much working out you can do on your computer with a couple of pounds on your arms."

15. Daryl Hannah

One Fair Wage FundraiserGetty Images

Daryl Hannah is an actress, best known for her role in the ‘80s film Splash. She is a vegetarian, and has started a blog about vegan junk food. “I grew up on junk food, and for me and millions of other Americans, it’s comfort food,” she tells Vegetarian Times. “I wanted to say those cravings can be satisfied with real food, food that grows in the ground or from trees. Treats can be good for you when made with whole, organic fruits and vegetables!”

Here are 10 celebrity bodies that defy time and the secrets behind them.

1. Jennifer Lopez

"The Flash" Premiere - Red CarpetGetty Images

In May 2021 Jennifer Lopez declared: "I'm in the best shape of my life." The 53-year-old actress seems to get in better shape the older she gets. Her secret? Changing up her approach to exercise. "In my 20s and 30s I used to work out but not like I do now," she told InStyle's The Beauty Issue. "It's not that I work out more; I just work out harder and smarter. And it doesn't take me as long as it did in the past. I do it more for my health than I do for looks, which is funny. When you do things for the right reasons, you actually look better!"

2. Heather Graham

In early June, Heather Graham, 53, hit the beach in a white-hot swimsuit, revealing her age-defying body. According to the star, the secret to her physique is a combination of fitness, mostly yoga and sometimes twice a day, and a healthy diet. She revealed to Refinery29 that she avoids complex carbohydrates—white flour and sugar.

3. Demi Moore

Demi Moore might be a grandmother, but she’s still just as sexy at 60 as she was decades ago. The longtime yogi, recently upped her workout game with the help of at-home workout classes via The Mirror. She also hikes with her family, eats healthy, and doesn’t drink alcohol or do drugs.

4. Catherine Zeta-Jones

Catherine Zeta-Jones, 53, clearly knows a few things about longevity. The Welsh actress is one of the few Hollywood stars who trains herself. “I don’t have a trainer. Crazy, right? But I don’t need anyone to motivate me,” she told InStyle. “I love exercise, even things like the elliptical machine and stretching. It’s a legacy of dancing all those years.” She does exercise “at least 45 minutes a day, seven days a week” – so every single day! Some of her favorite workouts include swimming, tennis, peloton, and tap dancing.

5. Salma Hayek

At 56, Salma Hayek is still sizzling up social media with her swimsuit snaps. In June 2023 she showed off her gorgeous curves in a bathing suit, making it hard to believe her claims that she hates to work out. "Some people have the discipline to exercise in the morning, and I didn't develop that," she told People. "I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long. So even when you brush your teeth, you're working the muscles.” Salma claims "restorative yoga” is responsible for her ageless body. “She taught me how to tone [my muscles] without clenching them. You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension. If you're aware of your body, you'd be surprised by the effect it can have."

6. Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston is famous for her rigorous and regimented approach to exercise. However, in a new interview with Bustle she revealed that after a lifetime of super-aggressive “feel the burn” workouts, she has softened her routine. “I work out about three to four times a week, which is basically all your body really needs. I’ll do Pvolve, and then to switch it up, sometimes I’ll do Pilates, or sometimes I’ll take a hike,” she said. She also focuses on recovery. I love an infrared sauna or an Epsom salt bath. Those are two really good for drawing that lactic acid out, and I’ll even use my hands or a little gua sha on my legs for the same purpose.”

7. Elizabeth Hurley

At 58, many women aren’t thrilled to wear swimsuits – let alone model them. However, Elizabeth Hurley is still her own best bathing suit salesperson. “I don’t exercise, but I am very active,” she confessed to Harper’s Bazaar. Her routine includes “going for walks, stretching, maybe a little yoga or a little Pilates,” she told Us Weekly in October 2018. “But I don’t like high impact, high energy sports. I don’t actually think they do you much good. As long as you get your heart rate to the rate you need it to get, which is a fast walk. But you need to do a bit of it.” She also counts steps. “ I walk every day, so I try and hit my 10,000 steps a day and I do some stretching every day. And then sometimes I do a bit more, but that’s enough for me really,” she said.

8. Cindy Crawford

At 57 Cindy Crawford is still a supermodel. She attributes her fantastic figure to regular strength and weight training workouts, boxing, golfing, and surfing. She recently told Red magazine that she has eased up on exercise since her Cindy Crawford Workout video days. “Now my goal is not to get hurt. So, I have added a lot more stretching and Pilates, and I don’t feel as compelled to do those tough workouts any more,” she said.

For Halle Berry, 56, fitness is simply a part of her lifestyle. “You just have to have the will and the desire. And you have to make up your mind that it's important,” she has said about the secret to her success. While her approach to exercise has evolved, she maintains that it’s “only changed in terms of how I've been adding to my fitness regimen. It used to just be working out with weights, and then I got into Pilates, and then I got into yoga, and now I'm into martial arts."

Jennifer Lopez, Sandra Bullock, Beyonce, and Gabrielle Union have one thing in common: They keep getting older, but refuse to age! Sure, Hollywood stars have an advantage when it comes to longevity compared to the general population, as they have access to personal trainers, chefs, and expensive products, creams, and fitness equipment. However, many of them maintain that their forever-young looks are the result of simple healthy habits. Read on to see 10 stars who haven’t aged in 20 years and learn about their secrets to longevity—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock, 57, has a sense of humor about her longevity. "I'm sleeping in a container that is devoid of outside carcinogens, that helps lift what you don't have and — come on, please!" she joked to Entertainment Tonight in 2018 when asked about her secret to anti-aging. In all seriousness, she revealed to InStyle that exercise, including Pilates, kickboxing, and weight training with Simone La Rue, helps keep her body forever young. "When I'm in Austin, I run or ride a bike," she explained. "If I can work out every day, I will."

2. Jennifer Lopez

jennifer-lopezGetty Images

Jennifer Lopez is the first to admit she is in the best shape of her life at 52. “In my 20s and 30s I used to work out but not like I do now,” she told InStyle’s 2021 The Beauty Issue. “It's not that I work out more; I just work out harder and smarter. And it doesn't take me as long as it did in the past. I do it more for my health than I do for looks, which is funny. When you do things for the right reasons, you actually look better!” She also drinks a ton of water, per her trainer Dodd Romero. “She drinks a minimum of seven glasses a day,” he told US Weekly.

3. Jennifer Aniston

If you want to look like Jennifer Aniston at 52, plan on transforming your eating habits. "I don't let eating habits get out of control where I need a reset button. My general philosophy is to eat healthy. It's pretty clear: eat as much organic fruits and veggies as you can, keep sugar [intake] low, drink tons and tons of water, and get good sleep,” she told Yahoo Food. In fact, when it comes to cheating, she has the willpower to eat a morsel. “A chip. Crunch, crunch, crunch,” she recently joked to InStyle about her stress-eating food of choice. “Usually. I'm good at that. I can have one M&M, one chip. I know, that's so annoying.”

4. Catherine Zeta Jones

catherine-zeta-jonesGetty Images

Catherine Zeta-Jones attributes her ageless figure to constantly moving. She exercises “at least 45 minutes a day, seven days a week,” she told InStyle, adding that fitness also boosts her mental health. “It really helps my mood too, which, with the bipolar thing, is important,” she said. She added to W that swimming, tennis, peloton, working out in her home gym and tap dancing are some of her other favorite workouts. "I have a ballet barre in my gym,” she told The Telegraph. "I turn the music up so loud that the walls are pulsating, and I go for it for an hour. I also hula-hoop, walk on the treadmill, do the elliptical [machine]. I try to keep the whole body working.”

5. Beyonce

Beyonce has been dabbling in plant-based eating since 2018, when she famously went on Marco Borges’ 22-day Vegan Challenge. “Me getting the weight off was so much easier than getting back in shape and my body feeling comfortable,” she said in a 2019 YouTube video about her transformation.

6. Eva Longoria

eva-longoriaGetty Images

Eva Longoria doesn’t take any shortcuts when it comes to her health. "Especially as you get older, people want to know the secret to looking good and there is no secret. It's diet and exercise," she told Vogue Australia. "People say they eat well but they don't exercise. Or they run 20 miles a day but they can't lose weight. You have to do both." Some of her workouts include trampoline exercise and strength training with Julia Brown of Thrive With Julia or Grant Roberts of Granite Gym. “I do very heavy weights,” she recently told Women’s Health. A few include squats on a weight rack with at least one 25-pound plate on each end and hip thrusts with a 50-pound plate on her hips. “I feel like my body changes the most when I do that—I wear a heart rate monitor, and I can see my heart rate spike from just doing a heavy bicep curl,” she added.

7. Gabrielle Union

gabrielle-unionGetty Images

How has Gabrielle Union maintained her glow? She drinks a gallon of water per day. “It's made a tremendous difference with my hair, skin, and nails. Everyone is always like, 'What did you do differently than everyone else? Why are you aging so slow?' It's something that everyone has access to and it not only helps with your beauty, it also helps with your fitness and digestion,” she told Elle. Her goal is to chug half a gallon by noon, “casually” drinking the other half until 6:00 pm. During workouts she drinks “a good 32 ounces” to stay fueled up. “Just try and do as much as you can early,” she suggests.

8. Gwyneth Paltrow

Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow does a lot of things to promote longevity, including cleanses and healthy eating. But when it comes to her body she doesn’t need to try any new trends and sticks with the Tracy Anderson Method. “Her method works so well for me. I've seen all these fads come and go, and nothing works for me the way that Tracy's approach does, so I really stick with it,” she told Shape. “Many of you may already know of my passion for the Tracy Anderson Method and my investment in it. She has kicked my formerly sagging ass into shape and I will be forever grateful,” she added on Goop.

9. Reese Witherspoon

Reese’s secret to looking good? “In my 30s, I learned to accept my body for what it is. This is what looks good on it. It will never look good in that thing over there with all the fabric and the bows and the ruffles. It just won't,” she revealed in the December 2021 issue of InStyle. In a recent Instagram Reel, she also confessed that drinking lots of water and sleep help keep her looking and feeling great. “In bed by 10pm. *no late night TV binges,” she said. “Try to get 8 hours of rest!”

10. Halle Berry

halle-berryGetty Images

In addition to her commitment to exercise, the keto diet and intermittent fasting have been keeping Halle Berry looking decades younger for, well, decades. During an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan she explained that the diet helps her manage her diabetes. "Nothing white. No sugar, no carbs," she said. Healthy fats like "avocado, coconut oil, butter" and no sugar also help. "That's the secret!" In an August 2018 Instagram story she discussed intermittent fasting, revealing that she eats two meals a day, saying she would "normally skip breakfast" and "sort of fast.”

For Hewitt, fitness is all about variety. “I try to switch it up a bit,” she told OK! Magazine. “I’ve found that if every week I do something different it tricks my muscles into not getting used to doing any one thing. I’ve been doing pilates, I’ve been doing yoga, I’ve done just plain old walking. I wear 10 pound weights on my ankles while I’m working just so that as I’m moving during the day I’m constantly building muscle. It’s not great for your back but I’m doing it anyway. I do a booty workout thing that I just did for Shape, which was really fun. And I do Zumba. I have DVDs and I dance around like a crazy person in my house.”

She Builds Confidence

In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

We are committed to bringing you researched, expert-driven content to help you make more informed decisions around food, health, and wellness. We know how important making choices about your overall health is, and we strive to provide you with the best information possible.

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Pilates

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
