1. Pump Iron and Do Strength Training

Lori-Harvey-1Lori Harvey/Instagram

Lori didn’t achieve her rock hard abs and strong physique from lounging around the pool. The star is majorly into strength training and is a regular at The Dogpound. In a recent Instagram video shared by the gym you can find her doing everything from pull ups to squats. “I usually try to switch it up and do more cardio some days and more strength training on others,” the Pretty Little Thing ambassador revealed during an interview. She starts her workouts with a fave minute warmup, followed by a few circuits of strength training, “either lower or upper body depending on what day it is and I always finish with ab work,” she said.

2. Keep Healthy Food On Hand

Lori-Harvey-2Lori Harvey/Instagram

Lori eats a healthy diet. One of her tricks for staying on track is keeping her kitchen stocked with nutritious eats. “I always keep some fruit around, I love strawberries and pomegranates. Lots of water. And some type of breakfast foods like eggs or oatmeal,” she said.

3. Box

Exercise doesn’t always have to involve circuits or sets. Lori keeps herself fighting form with the help of boxing. She fights at The Dogpound, and her boxing sessions are part of her workout.

4. Try Pilates

Lori is one of the many stars who swears by Pilates. “We had the booty band on the entire time,” she dished to Bustle during an interview, conducted post-Pilates class. “I just feel muscles working that I didn’t even know I had, but that is what I’m really into right now.”

5. Do Outdoor Activities

Lori stays active outdoors when she isn’t in the gym. One of her favorite activities is horseback riding, which she has been doing since she was young. “It’s very freeing. My mind constantly is going at a million things 24/7; it’s hard for me to shut my brain down. When I’m on a horse, literally that is all I’m thinking about: me in that moment and me and that horse. You have to be very in tune to the horse and what’s going on, and picking up on them and the environment, and making sure there’s not anything around that could maybe spook them or scare them,” she told Bustle. “I did show jumping, so I’m paying attention to my distance from the jumps and the setup, and is [the horse] positioned right? So many things go into it, but it’s a very freeing experience.”

1. She Does Pilates

Harvey notably lost a lot of weight, leaving people clamoring for her secrets. She shared some of her secrets in an interview with ESSENCE at last year’s Met Gala. “It’s Pilates,” she says. “It really changed my life…I’ve been consistently doing Pilates for the past year. I’ve done it for a few years, but I’ve been really consistent the last year.”

2. She Used A Calorie Deficit

In the same interview, Harvey talked about the diet she used to lose weight. She says that she used a calorie deficit method. “I was consuming like 1200 calories a day max,” she confessed. “I wasn’t on a specific diet, I was just trying to do meat and veges and minimal carbs.” A study in The National Institute of Health states that calorie deficits have a lot of benefits. “Calorie restriction

Attractive,Young,Sports,Woman,Is,Working,Out,In,Gym.,DoingShutterstock

involves reducing food intake without causing malnutrition. Animal studies have found health benefits in calorie restriction that include improved metabolism, longer life spans, and delayed onset of age-associated diseases.”

3. She Does Cardio

In addition to Pilates, Harvey made sure to do cardio. In particular, she ran on the treadmill. “I would do Pilates in the morning and then I would leave there, go to the gym and hop on the treadmill for 30 minutes,” she said to ESSENCE. “Do some type of cardio, because that’s how you drop [weight]. Pilates alone is not going to make you lose weight, it’s just going to give you long, lean muscles.”

4. She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Lori-HarveyLori Harvey/Instagram

Harvey has her own line of skincare products, SKN by LH. She explained why she decided to create the line to Vogue. “I have rosacea and would struggle to find the right products to use,” Harvey says. “Then I got into modeling, and between shoots and backstage at runway shows you have so much makeup being put on your face. My skin was constantly going through it. So after using, like, 20 different products on my face at one time, I felt like there had to be a simpler way for me to get my skin looking the way I wanted it to…I’m someone who has extremely sensitive skin, so I wanted to create an easy, step-by-step routine for all skin types, but one that definitely catered to people with sensitive skin who want to achieve a radiant complexion but don’t know what to use to get it.”

5. She Uses Clean Products

Lori-Harvey-1Lori Harvey/Instagram

Harvey tells Teen Vogue that she likes to use clean skin products. She says that she decided to make her own line vegan as well. “I think [the defining factor is] that we're clean. We're vegan. We don't have any sulfates, no parabens, no petroleums, no synthetic dyes or fragrance or coloring. So all the good stuff. And, we're also suitable for all skin types, but we especially cater to sensitive skin. That was extremely important to me because, like I said, I have extremely sensitive skin and finding products that really worked for me and my skin.”

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
