1. She Sticks To Her Guns

Nyong’o opened up about her life and what she has learned in an interview with The Texas Conference For Women. She says that she was taught to stick to her guns, when it comes to what she believes. “All my conscious life, my father has fought for what he believed in, even when it was highly inconvenient. Integrity is a quality I insist on in my relationships because of his example.” Nyong’o is a supporter for a lot of different causes and organizations, and has spoken out about different things.
2. She Has Support

Nyong’o tells The Texas Conference For Women that she has a lot of supportive people in her life. “My parents have taught me the value of friendship,” she says. “Just the other day my mother reminded me that the value of life is not what you do, but who you are to those you call friends. My parents have invested in some quality friendships over the years. To this day I call their close friends my aunts and uncles. They have been my foster parents in the foreign countries that I have called home over the years. They have loved me like a daughter because of how much they love my parents. And my parents have instilled in me the conviction to foster those relationships, make them my own, and never take them for granted.”
3. She Eats Good Sugars

While working on Black Panther, Nyong’o made sure to be healthy. She opened up about what she did in an interview with Essence. She says that she only ate good sugars on the set. "It was only once we wrapped that I realized I was on a sugar-free diet," she said. "We could have fruit, which is a good sugar, but no fructose or refined sugar.”
4. She Weight Trains
Nyong’o shares a lot of workout videos and photos on her Instagram. One type of exercise she likes to do is weight and strength training. She shared this video of herself doing tricep extensions with hand weights. 5. She Does Full Body Workouts
Nyong’o makes sure to workout her entire body. She shared this set of exercise videos on Instagram. In them, Nyong’o is seen doing squats and push-ups in a park. She captioned the post, “Fitness was once my friend. Getting reacquainted and loving it. (But the junk stays in the trunk!)”
