She Doesn't Call Herself "Famous"
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Maddie revealed that she doesn't like to think of herself as famous. "I have a fear of people thinking I think I'm all that, and that's what I relate being famous to, even though I know that's not necessarily the case. It's just easier for me to say 'well known' or 'in the public eye' because to me, that just seems less intimidating," she said.
She Works Out and Eats Healthy
In a recent YouTube video detailing her day, Maddie reveals that she fuels up with some "oats," before hitting the gym. Her workout, which can be done anywhere, consists of jumping jacks, kicks, running in place, pliés, crunches, leg circles, yoga stretches, the splits, and lots of stretching.
She Deals with Skin Breakout
Maddie cleans up post-workout. "The reason why I shower immediately after I workout is that I am prone to breaking out on my face and back," Maddie explains. "So if I quickly get into the shower right after I don't break out as much." She added to Cosmo that opening up about her skin woes has helped other people. "I've been dealing with back acne for two years on and off, and I'm so insecure about it at every photo shoot. Eventually, I was just like, Okay, I'm going to put it on my Story. I said, 'This is what I've been dealing with. Is anyone else going through this, and do you have any recommendations?' I had so many people reach out. I kind of want to use Instagram now as a more conversational thing, where we can talk about things that maybe aren't always so great."
She Fuels Up with Protein Bars
In order to get all the protein she needs, Maddie relies on protein bars, especially right after a workout. The convenient snack offers a balance of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats.
She Goes to Therapy
"I will always be a perfectionist, but not in the way where in Dance Moms you would see me crying and then I just suck it up and get right back to it," Maddie told Cosmopolitan. "I'm going to therapy, talking to people, doing all the things. I've learned I'm not going to be in trouble if I'm feeling bad or if I have an injury. That's the biggest difference. It's amazing that I'm able to feel my feelings and not just push them down. I'm also just really clean. That's where my perfectionism has transferred."
