1

Ride Horses

Madison is an equestrian and recently celebrated "A good old fashioned North Carolina birthday," she captioned an Instagram image. "Riding a horse for 45 minutes at a walk, trot and canter can burn up to 200 calories," said Dr. Dennis Sigler, a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service horse specialist and professor in the department of animal science at Texas A&M University in College Station. "If you do something a bit more strenuous such as cutting or reining, that can come out to nearly seven calories per minute for the entire length of the riding period," adds the American Heart Association.

Take a Hike

Madison is a hiker. "Missing my LA hikes," she captioned a photo of one of her exercise sessions. "Do one thing a day that makes you proud of yourself. 3.5 miles and 500 stairs will suffice for today," she captioned another Instagram post. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.

3

Soak in Hot Water

Madison soaks away her stress in hot tubs and baths. "Baby it's -5 outside," she captioned a recent jacuzzi snap. How can baths do your body and mind good? They have been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits.

4

Be "Natural" and "Authentic"

Madison recently explained to Natural Diamonds that authenticity is important to her. "The idea of natural means a lot to me. And in an age where everything seems fictitious…I'm in a position now where I am a role model, inspiring young girls who are not seeing a lot of natural at the moment. Not just with the obvious — plastic surgery — but also with authenticity," she said. "On social media, you are presenting your best self all the time. And in a way I still am. I get on Instagram and I definitely am posting pictures where I look and feel my best, but I feel like it is important to be vocal about imperfections and about not always being in that moment and not always feeling your best self. Part of being natural is all of those very human emotions — I try to present myself in a way that feels human. I can't lose myself, and lies are very hard to keep up with."

5

Find "Workout Buddies

Madison is a big fan of the workout buddy system. Who does she train with? Her Outer Banks "pogue" costar Jonathan Davis. "I miss my workout buddies," she captioned a snap of the two at the gym.
