Maren’s diet is extremely healthy. She starts her day with three-egg whites and spinach cooked in olive oil, and wheat toast, followed by a salad with protein for lunch. She usually waits until after her shows to have dinner. “When I’m out there, I make it count. I know I’ll feel awful if I don’t eat right after burning all those calories in the show,” she told Women’s Health. For dinner, she will eat another salad, maybe skinless chicken over spinach with lemon vinaigrette.

2. Do HIIT Workouts

Maren attributes her toned figure to regular HIIT sessions with Nashville based trainer Erin Oprea. When she can’t make it into the studio she uses Erin’s Pretty Little Muscles app. Her workouts usually involve jump roping followed by bodyweight resistance strength training, doing exercises like front and side planks, pushups, squats, lunges, and a combo of the latter two. “Squat lunges are the worst,” she confessed. “They’re so hard because that’s the area I need it most—my thighs and butt.” She then moves to the BOSU ball and does crunches and core work, followed by weight lifting with free weights.

In one of the posts of her Mexico trip, Maren showed the tennis court of her resort. “She has been playing tennis,” Opera told E News. “I encourage clients to do their cardio outside of me. Sports are always the best way because when you're chasing a ball, you're not thinking about cardio.”

4. Cook Your Own Food

According to Oprea, Maren also enjoys cooking her own meals, ensuring they are made with healthy ingredients. “She has this rotisserie chicken recipe that she really loves to cook. She's gotten really big into cooking with her husband and that makes me beyond happy,” the trainer told E News.

5. Go To Therapy

After welcoming her son, Maren battled postpartum depression. Her husband, Ryan Hurd, was influential in getting the mental health help she needed. "I do check-ins all the time [with] therapy, which I've done for years, and my husband was a huge help diagnosing that too," she told People. "Sometimes it's just someone really close to you saying, 'Are you OK?' It's so simple, but it kind of snaps you out of whatever fog you're in that you think is normal, but isn't."

Morris opened up about postpartum depression and how she’s treating it on The Howard Stern Show. “I think I was just starting to make very little sense to myself and to people around me. I felt useless in the way of I couldn’t work. I couldn’t tour. Everything got canceled.”It’s a tough one when you’ve done something for so long to not think that that’s you, even though you love it and it makes you a living, that’s not who you are. So separating those things was helpful, getting on Zoloft was also really cool.”

2. She Shaves Her Face

Morris has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it. She revealed a unique treatment she has on Twitter. “Ok, going a step further, I also shave my face. I learned it because Amy Grant said it once at a talk 5 years ago and she doesn’t age. I’ve been shaving ever since. Men age gracefully because they shave everyday. Marilyn Monroe also shaved. Like, literally no one asked, but it’s Twitter, so f*** it. After years of stage makeup, the only thing that’s worked for my skin is doing microneedling every 2 months. It’s been 2 years since I’ve had a major breakout, even through pregnancy.”

3. Morris Works with Trainer

Morris works with trainer, Erin Opera, to help her stay fit. Opera shared some of Morris’ fitness secrets in an interview with E! News. “She has been playing tennis,” Opera revealed. “I encourage clients to do their cardio outside of me. When it comes to her diet, Morris revealed on Instagram that she’s a fan of fish and seafood. Morris posted a series of photos from a night out at a sushi restaurant, including oysters and tuna. She captioned the photo series, “You are what you eat.” "For many years, the American Heart Association has recommended that people eat fish rich in unsaturated fats at least twice a week. The unsaturated fats in fish are called omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids and other nutrients in fish may benefit heart health and reduce the risk of dying of heart disease," says the Mayo Clinic. "Some people are concerned about mercury or other contaminants in seafood. However, the benefits of eating fish as part of a healthy diet usually outweigh the possible risks of exposure to contaminants."

Morris spent her summer in Tennessee with her old friends from Texas, and one of her activities included spending time on the water. Morris shared a series of photos on Instagram in July, which include her swimming with friends, and spending time on a boat. "The good news is that the fresh air and open spaces provided by the outdoors encourage families to be active together. "I'd always worked out really intermittently and done yoga and hot yoga but had never really used a trainer before, and I really wanted to get toned," she said to Women’s Health. "I didn't necessarily want to lose weight, I wanted to feel strong, so I definitely do feel strong now, which is nice."

I was reading this book that was written around 1919, if I am remembering correctly, and it was very of its day. It was discussing all the ‘female’ concerns. There were some horrific suggestions on how to take care of yourself, including putting some kind of acid on your skin. But there was one thing I took away, because I think it’s true—the author said not to frown because at a certain point it will stick. And what speaks to me here is that I do believe that when we hold upset, anger, hurt, pain or bitterness, it ages us and we wear it. That isn’t to say we are always going to feel happy. But it’s important not to hold on to things.”

Moore tells Harper’s Bazaar that she avoids using certain products on her skin, as they would agitate it. “My skin is hyper hyper sensitive, so I can’t have anything with fragrance,” she explained. “It has to be really high quality, clean, active ingredients.” "Daily cleansing and shaving can take a toll on your skin. To keep it gentle:

  • Limit bath time. Hot water and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Limit your bath or shower time, and use warm — rather than hot — water.
  • Avoid strong soaps. Strong soaps and detergents can strip oil from your skin. Instead, choose mild cleansers.
  • Shave carefully. To protect and lubricate your skin, apply shaving cream, lotion or gel before shaving. For the closest shave, use a clean, sharp razor. Shave in the direction the hair grows, not against it.
  • Pat dry. After washing or bathing, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on your skin.
  • Moisturize dry skin. If your skin is dry, use a moisturizer that fits your skin type. For daily use, consider a moisturizer that contains SPF," says the Mayo Clinic.

She Lifts Weights

Walking an average course for a round of golf can be between five to seven kilometres. If you walk 18 holes three to five times a week, you’ll get an optimal amount of endurance exercise for your heart. If you pull your clubs or carry them, you’ll burn even more calories each round and benefit even more.”
