Mariah told E! News, that she tries "to stick with the proteins. It's the worst." Her diet consists of a lot of salmon, which she says gets a tad boring. Why? "But it works!" she added. In another interview with Shape she emphasized the importance of diet, claiming that "90 percent of losing weight is my diet."

Wine Is Her Guilty Pleasure

Bring on the vino! "Her one guilty pleasure, that she will never stop enjoying, is her wine. She likes to sip on a glass of red or white at the end of a long day and that's something that Mariah will probably never change," a source told Hollywood Life.

She Works Out Three Times a Week for 60 to 90 Minutes

According to Us Weekly Mariah works out three times a week. She added to Oprah that her workouts usually last for 60 to 90 minutes and are a combination of cardio with resistance training.

She Walks

Mariah gets her steps in. "Mariah's never been a huge fan of going to the gym, but she always forces herself to go for a brisk walk everyday, even if it's on the treadmill," a source told Hollywood Life. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

She Doesn't Pay Attention to the Number on the Scale

Mariah tries to look past the numbers. "For me, it's not about a number on a scale," Carey told Oprah. "It's not about necessarily even a size. It's about feeling good and being comfortable in your own skin. Right now, I feel really great. I feel better than I've ever felt."

She Battles Bipolar Disorder

Mariah recently came clean about her mental health struggles. "Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me," she told People about why she kept her bipolar disorder a secret for years. "It was too heavy a burden to carry and I simply couldn't do that anymore."

She Swims

Carey isan avid swimmer. "What's great about working out in the pool is the water acts as resistance," she told Oprah. "You're actually exercising twice as hard without feeling it." She added to People that she uses time in the ocean as a workout. "I'm getting it in," she said. And clearly, that is what she is doing in her latest Instagram Reel!
