Martha Higareda in Bathing Suit "Says Yes to Adventure"

Martha Higareda is taking a much needed vacation and getting her Aloha on! The Mexican actress shows off her beautiful figure in one of her latest social media posts, relaxing by the Pacific Ocean while on a getaway in the tropics. In her Instagram post she explained that she had been filming back-to back projects and hadn't taken a break. "So we went to one of my favorite places in the world #Maui With the plan of having No Plan, @lewishowes and I, we got carried away saying yes to all the adventures that came. We swam in waterfalls. We had dinner under the stars with @kiawe_outdoor and his family @beardybrandon with @shugood and her family, we walked on the beach, swam in waterfalls, sang songs and the adventure took us to hang out with new friends in the ultimate man cave I had not laughed so much and look at me I laugh a lot. It's been a great experience to travel with no plans and get carried away by whatever comes along the way!" she captioned the post. How does she stay so fit? She Maintains a Plant-Based Diet

Martha revealed in an interview with Locale Magazine that she maintains a vegan diet. Maintaining a plant-based diet can be great for your health if done tactfully. "One large study found that people who ate more vegetables had a smaller risk of chronic heart disease; in fact, the more veggies they ate, the more their risk went down," says the Mayo Clinic. "Researchers compiled the findings of 95 different studies and concluded: Eating more fruits and vegetables daily reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. Apples, pears, citrus fruits and leafy greens all helped heart health."

She Boxes

To prepare for her big role in Altered Carbon Higareda trained for two months in martial arts and boxing. She enjoyed it so much that she continues to practice the fighting form of fitness and even has an entire tab devoted to her workouts on her Instagram page.

She Maintains a Strict Diet When She Needs To

Martha is incredibly disciplined. When she was prepping for her role in Altered Carbon, she fueled her body with a lot of plant-based protein. ​​"Let's say that from Monday to Friday, and on Sundays, we were all under a very strict diet, based on many vegetables, many carbohydrates, and I don't eat meat, but well, the others ate a lot of protein, I ate vegetable protein and that's it," she said.

She Loves Sushi

"I definitely like eating sushi. I think [that] in the whole country, this is the best place to eat sushi," Martha told Locale. "Really, I eat very little sushi because I'm vegan. I think it's the only way that we can help the planet," she added. Her favorite restaurants in LA include Uovo, SUGARFISH, and Katsuya.

She Hits the Gym

Martha, who maintains a very active lifestyle, hiking, swimming, and going for walks, also hits the gym. Here she is running on a treadmill, getting her sweat on.​"​ Slowly starting my workout routine again. 🙂 good morning!" she captioned this Instagram video.
