Jama has a busy schedule, which can make it difficult to squeeze in a workout. However, she makes sure to get her exercise in when she can. She tells Women’s Health, “It’s difficult with the job I have – I can’t schedule workouts in advance, I have to grab them when I can, so I want to use that training time wisely.” Jama also credits her personal trainer, Alice Liveing, with teaching her that “it’s the quality of your sessions that counts, not how long you're in the gym for.”
2. She Loves Doing Squats

Jama says to Women’s Health that squats are her favorite type of exercise, and she’s got a good reason for liking them. "I love my bum, so we tend to concentrate on that – lots of nice deep squats,” she says. Jama also revealed to Stylist.co that she’s been doing squats for a long time. “I love feeling strong, but I’m not naturally like that. From an early age I’d be trying to use my mum’s weight to do deep squats and build bigger legs.”
3. She Varies Up Her Workouts
Jama tells Stylist.co that she doesn’t have a specific fitness routine that she goes to everyday. “I’m a go with the flow kind of person,” she says. Jama has a lot of favorites, saying, “Every morning I put good music on and dance around my bedroom or run up and down the stairs. I’ve found wearing ankle weights really useful, putting on thick socks and weights while I do my daily activities for some extra resistance. And I’ve got a bike in front of my TV so I can jump on that when I’m watching something.”
4. She’s A Fan of Circuits

Jama says that her exercises are done in circuits. “I usually just do three exercises back to back and then repeat that three times round,” she says to Stylist.co. Jama’s favorite circuit is a full-body strength circuit. The three workouts in the circuit are medicine ball squats, medicine ball Russian twists, and full-body extensions.
5. She’s A Fan of Zoom and Online Workouts

With the COVID-19 pandemic that causes gyms and fitness centers to close, this means that everyone has to workout at home. However, Jama says that she loves to workout at home, and that she does a lot of virtual workouts. She says to Stylist.co, “I actually like the Zoom environment where everyone is working out together. It keeps me from wanting to stop.” Jama also follows Ciara London’s Instagram workouts.
6. She’s Very Spiritual
Jama says that she’s had to deal with a lot of internal struggles and hardships, and this has caused her to develop a strong sense of spirituality. “You know, I’ve got this thing where, if I don’t feel 100%, I count my blessings. I’m like ‘OK, what are you thankful for? You’ve got your health, a nice job, you’re not starving, your family’s healthy, blah blah blah,” she says to Women’s Health. “I pray quite often. A little prayer in the morning, one at night. I mean, not every day, but when I can.” Jama has credited her faith with helping her stay on the right track.
