1

Pilates Sessions

Fairfax-Wayne does Pilates whenever she can. "My life consists of a lot of travel, so there isn't much routine which I sometimes love as I am never bored, but the downside is that it can make you a little lazy when it comes to working out," she says. "I really love to walk — when I am in Australia I will walk for an hour almost every day. When in New York I do Pilates every third day at the quaintest little studio around the corner from my apartment."

2

Lots of Walking

Fairfax-Wayne loves to walk, finding it a therapeutic way to stay active. "I try to walk a few mornings a week, although depending on schedule, sometimes this takes place in the afternoons," she says. "Nothing too strenuous, it's more about a mental state than a physical one. I love to let my imagination run wild on my walks – I think about my wedding, my future, creative projects, how I could change the world – you know? All the normal things! It's a great escape, I truly drift off to another place… I don't meditate (YET) so I feel this is my own form of meditation."

3

Healthy Hydration

Fairfax-Wayne doesn't obsess about meals, but she makes sure to stay hydrated throughout the day. "I always make sure I have a bottle of water with me when I am typing," she says. "Whenever I need a breather or have to stop to think of a particular word, I take a sip, I end up drinking a lot of water! It saves my skin. Sometimes during the holidays when I am digital-detoxing my skin turns to rubbish as I am nowhere near hydrated enough… I graze a lot during the day, sometimes I would say I don't even eat set meals. I eat when I am hungry and I eat whatever my body craves, if it's carbs or sugar I allow it. I think your body tells you what it needs."

4

Coffee and Tea

Fairfax-Wayne loves drinking both coffee and tea, especially as an energy boost before a brisk walk. "If you quickly clear caffeine from your system, coffee boosts energy and heightens mental focus," says Jennifer Bollig, a registered dietitian at Banner Estrella Medical Center. "Which is why caffeine is the most widely used psychoactive substance in the world."

5

No Crazy Diets

Fairfax-Wayne keeps a sensible balance between healthy choices and simply enjoying her life. "I have been an elite athlete (gymnast) at the Australian Institute of Sport and now I am in the fashion industry, two spaces that can be highly controversial in regards to weight and wellbeing!" she says. "I consider myself to be in really great health and I have never taken exercise and/or dieting too seriously. It's all about enjoyment and fun… if you are happy the rest follows."
