Go for Walks
Nicola walks off the calories "I like walking the dogs," she told Glamour when they asked about how she stays in shape. The Mayo Clinic endorses regular brisk walking, with or without dogs, as an easy and efficient way to maintain a healthy weight and lose body fat, and prevent or manage various conditions, including heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, cancer, and type 2 diabetes.
Do Lots of Squats
Nicola understands that squats can do a booty good. "I do 100 squats while I brush my teeth," she told Glamour. In the morning and evening? "No, just in the morning. Jesus, I don't do them at night, too!"
Avoid Processed Food
Nicola tries to stick to clean, whole foods. "I'm quite fussy about food now," Nicola told Glamour. "I won't eat frozen food and I like to know where my food has come from. I don't like anything going in my body that's from a packet. I used to eat microwave-ready meals, because we were so busy, but now I like to eat clean."
Do 500 Crunches Per Day
Nicola's flat abs are the result of a lot of hard ab work. She revealed to Closer that she does a whopping 500 of the ab exercises daily. "It sounds crazy, but it's not that bad – especially if you do it in sets of 20s," she said.
Eat Less Junk Food
Nicola stays away from junk food. "'I'm a big fan of chips and gravy, but I've cut down on junk food. I'm lucky to have a fast metabolism, so I just don't put on weight easily," she told Closer. "My weight fluctuates all the time and I actually feel better when I'm about 9st. I joined the band when I was 16, so I was really scrawny. Now I've grown into my body and filled out and it feels much better."
