Don't Deprive Yourself

Nicole doesn't suggest taking an all-or-nothing approach to diet. "Don't deprive yourself of anything because eventually you'll crave it and then you might binge on it. Everything in moderation," she told Women's Health UK. What does she eat in a day? "For breakfast I love eggs and toast and smoked salmon or bacon, or porridge. For lunch I like maybe some soup or some sushi. For dinner, anything from pasta to rice, and meats and veggies, to sushi. When I'm going to indulge, I love pasta, pizza, I love Mexican with lots of cheese. I love French fries, or crisps – salt and vinegar crisps. In terms of snacks: almonds, coconut water, bits of coconut, baby carrots."

Do Lots of Different Workouts

Scherzinger explained to Women's Health UK that she does a variety of workouts. "In a typical workout I would run on the treadmill, maybe 20 mins, then try to do some squats, some sit-ups on the exercise ball, some yoga stretches. When I'm home I like to take a spinning class called Soul Cycle or I like to do hot yoga – a modified version of bikram yoga – or hiking, and core power yoga in LA," she said. She also dances. "I mean, I heard that dancing and laughing gives you better abs than crunches anyway," she captioned a recent post.

Nicole is all about the workout buddy system. "Me and my girlfriends support each other for the gym. Because, you know, it's hard to be motivated sometimes, so when you go you push each other, – we try to do different things," she explained to Women's Health UK. "We'll go hiking one day and then we'll try a sculpting hot yoga class, then we'll do a cardio. We just motivate each other."

Stay Active Outdoors

Even when she isn't working out to burn calories, Scherzinger is active. The star is a fan of outdoor activities, including going on walks, hiking and surfing.

Nicole looks at exercise as medicine for her mental health. "I travel so much it's so important for me to sweat it out. It's not only for physical being, but mostly for my mental well-being. It keeps me centered, focused, strong and helps me get in the right frame of mind for my work ahead. Preparation is key. Prepare yourself so when the opportunity comes, you are ready!" she wrote on Instagram.
