Actress Nina Dobrev has been seen in a swimsuit this season—whether it’s due to friends sharing photos of her as birthday wishes, her posing in the snow (in a red bathing suit!), or in a new post, from her friend Keleigh Sperry Teller. “Health and wellness guru Nina,” a photo of Dobrev and others in bathing suits was captioned, along with a drink emoji. What are Dobrev’s secrets to staying so fit? 1. She Prioritizes Her Happiness

After leaving The Vampire Diaries, Dobrev told Women’s Health that she always tried to prioritize her happiness in life. “I was like, ‘Why am I here? What am I doing? Is it making me happy? What can I do to make me happier?’”

2. She Does Something Different Each Day

To stay in shape, Dobrev does a lot of different types of workouts. In fact, she says that she aims to do a different workout each day, and that it is paying off. “Doing something different [each day] has been the most fun, and I’ve seen the most benefit because you shock your system,” she told Women’s Health.

3. She Built A Home Gym

Dobrev previously did a majority of her workouts outside, at the gym, or with a trainer. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced her to rethink her workouts. “Once I was home, I realized I didn't have much [gym equipment] at home so I went into a mad dash,” she says to Shape. Dobrev then built a home gym, so she could still workout while the gyms were closed. "I'm really proud of my home gym, I use it a lot," she says. "It's really nice to have that flexibility of working out, whether it's really early in the morning before I got to set, or really late a night when I get home from set, or after a long flight."

4. She Makes Healthy Shakes

Dobrev tells HollywoodLife that she likes to make a healthy shake in the morning, and shared her recipe. “I’m a bit of a creature of habit so every single day after my workout, I make a shake. It’s a delicious coconut peanut butter from Hawaii — this brand called North Shore Goodies, their peanut butter, you can only get it there, you have to ship it, and it’s really expensive but its worth it, I swear! I put that with chocolate protein powder, spinach, 1/2 a banana, almond milk, ice, water and cinnamon. It tastes like a milkshake and feels like you’re cheating, but you’re not!”

5. She Eats Every Two Hours

When it comes to her diet, Dobrev says that she always tries to have something to eat every two hours, and that this helps with her metabolism. “There was a period of time that I was working with a trainer, who told me you have to eat every two hours, so that your metabolism keeps working,” she explains to Harper’s Bazaar.

Nina Dobrev, star of Love Hard, knows how to have a good time, especially now that she's traveling the world with her boyfriend, legendary snowboarder Shaun White. The two gallivant. She’s currently on vacation in Dubai, and just posted a series of vacation photos. In one, Dobrev slays by the pool in a black bathing suit. She captioned the post, “Dub-hi / Dub-byeeee dump. Don’t challenge us with a good time, we can accomplish ALOT on a 36 hour layover.” How does she stay so fit? 1. She Has A Home Gym

nina-dobrev-1Nina Dobrev/Instagram

During the pandemic, Dobrev had to find a new way to workout. She says that she decided to build a home gym. “One of the things that I realized when the pandemic started was that I used a personal trainer and relied on a lot of outside sources for my fitness -- especially because I used to be so busy traveling and working," Dobrev tells Shape. "But once I was home, I realized I didn't have much [gym equipment] at home so I went into a mad dash."

2. She Enjoys Working Out

amfAR Gala Cannes 2022 - ArrivalsLionel Hahn/Getty Images

Dobrev spilled some of her workout secrets in an interview with SELF. She says that she works out on a regular basis, and that she doesn’t work out to lose weight. "I work out to feel good. Exercising gives me endorphins and energy. I do it four days a week." "It pumps up your endorphins. Physical activity helps bump up the production of your brain's feel-good neurotransmitters, called endorphins. Although this function is often referred to as a runner's high, a rousing game of tennis or a nature hike also can contribute to this same feeling," says the Mayo Clinic.

3. She Trains Harder When She Needs To

"Run This Town" Canadian PremiereGeorge Pimentel/Getty Images

Dobrev says she mostly works out to stay healthy and feel better about herself. However, she does want to look good in some outfits on occasion. When those times come up, Dobrev tells SELF that she eats healthier and trains harder. "I have a flat tummy, but I'm not rock hard. If I'm going to be in a bikini, I'll train more and skip desserts for a couple of weeks."

4. She Remembers Where She Came From

2nd Annual Environmental Media Association (EMA) Honors Benefit Gala - ArrivalsTibrina Hobson/Getty Images

Dobrev makes sure to stay humble, and does so by being connected to her roots. She tells SELF, "Remembering my roots matters to me. We were on a tight budget growing up, and my parents gave so much to get me where I am. Now, at Christmas, I rent a house in the Rockies and take my family snowboarding." "Skiing and snowboarding are thrilling activities and great workouts. Both sports are excellent cardiovascular exercises that strengthen the heart. Because they are also weight-bearing exercises, they strengthen your bones as they tone your muscles," says the University of Rochester. "Cardiovascular or aerobic exercises also work to reduce your risk for chronic diseases, and lower blood pressure. They also help you maintain a healthy body weight. Through regular aerobic exercise like skiing and snowboarding, you lower your risk of developing conditions like diabetes and heart disease, having a stroke, and perhaps even getting cancer."

5. She Loves Yoga

Top Gun: Maverick UK Premiere - LondonIan West/Getty Images

Dobrev tells SELF that she loves to practice yoga as a way to stay in shape. "Yoga changed my body 100 percent. It tones everything and leans you out. Dancer's pose is amazing. It works every muscle! And you have to focus. If your mind is somewhere else, you'll fall." "A number of studies have shown that yoga may help reduce stress and anxiety. Yoga can enhance your mood and overall sense of well-being. Yoga might also help you manage your symptoms of depression and anxiety that are due to difficult situations," says the Mayo Clinic.

She’s got legs and she knows how to use them! In her latest social media post, Nina Dobrev shows off her legs-for-miles in a chic Fendi swimsuit. “Gotta put your best foot forward,” the former Vampire Diaries star captioned the Instagram snap. How does the 33-year-old maintain her fit physique? 1. She Practices Portion Control

Nina’s diet is all about portion control. “I used to eat three full meals, and then I would not be able to move after each meal. I would be so full and tired. Now, I eat all the time but portion control is what’s important for me—I’m eating more in total but not more at a time. I aim to have the size of my thumb in fat, the size of my palm in protein, and then unlimited veggies. I wish I’d learned this in school,” she told Shape.

2. This Is Her “Workout Cocktail”

Nina doesn’t have to force herself to break a sweat. “I just love working out,” she told Women's Health. Her “workout cocktail” includes yoga, running, weight training, boxing, and group classes. “I’m getting older and more conscious of what I eat and how I eat it and what I do,” she explained. “Doing something different [each day] has been the most fun, and I’ve seen the most benefit because you shock your system.”

3. She Sweats Daily

amfAR Gala Cannes 2022 - ArrivalsDaniele Venturelli/Getty Images

Nina is a big fan of the steam room. “I need to sweat every single day somehow, even if it’s just in the steam room,” she told Women’s Health. She also makes sure to walk her dog in the AM. “Some days are better than others, I’ll be honest with you. Some days, Maverick gets a shorter walk than she probably deserves, if I’m running late or don’t have it together or press the snooze button 18 times too many.”

4. She Eats More Calories Than She Used to

Nina has boosted her caloric intake over the years. “I feel healthier,” she told Women’s Health. “You’re happier when your body is full, your brain functions better, and you’re a nicer person. I would get hangry, I think, because I was so busy running around that I wasn’t the best version of myself.”

5. She Doesn’t Eat Fish

Dorado,Fish,And,Other,Ingredients,And,No,Fish,Sign,OnShutterstock

Nina is the opposite of a pescatarian. “I used to eat a lot of fish but in researching a lot about what goes on in the ocean, making a documentary of my own, watching another documentary that recently affected me significantly — at the rate that we’re eating fish, because there are so many humans on the Earth, it’s not sustainable," she said in Harper’s Bazaar's YouTube show Food Diaries. "And the fishing industry itself is not sustainable at all. So, as of recently, I have stopped eating fish altogether."

Strength training with weights and such a regimented schedule has been new to my life, and now that I understand the way it all works, the science behind it, it's changed everything for me.”

Sophie Piper is embracing island life – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the Love Island beauty shows off her fantastic figure in a swimsuit during a tropical vacation at Kandima Maldives with Josh Ritchie. “Island life,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps taken at the picturesque resort. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do. When in reality it can be such a helpful tool and you can learn things that will actually encourage long term habits 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

She Loves Bananas

Tammy Hebrew has a banana snack.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying bananas in her “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic states that bananas have a lot of benefits. “A single medium-sized banana offers about 32 mg of the mineral magnesium, which fulfills around 8% to 10% of your daily magnesium requirement. Magnesium is involved in many processes in your body, including: Blood pressure. Blood sugar levels. Building proteins. Maintaining bone. Muscle function. Nerve function.”

She Loves Cottage Cheese

Tammy Hebrew's snack the contains banana and cottage cheese.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying her bananas with cottage cheese in the previous Instagram video. Cottage cheese is very healthy. UCLA Health reports, “Cottage cheese’s protein content and low calories make it an ideal food for weight management. Research shows that whether you are trying to lose weight or reduce your risk of overweight or obesity, eating a high-protein diet can help you feel full and satisfied for longer.”

It’s hard to believe that Jennifer Aniston is 55 and turning 56 in February! Since soaring to fame in 1994, the Friends star has hardly aged in the three decades that have passed – and she has never been secretive about her devotion to health and wellness. Her hard work over the years has paid off through her strong and lean body and ageless looks. Here is everything you need to know about Jennifer Aniston’s approach to longevity.

She Maintains a High Protein Diet

"My nutrition is very much the same. It's usually a lot of high protein, vegetables, salads, soups,” she tells People. “I do 80/20. I give myself days where I can have whatever I want. I don’t deprive myself,” she added to TODAY. Why should you consider amping up your protein intake? According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW) but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

She Cheats on Occasion

Jennifer allows herself to indulge in “everything I would possibly want on a weekend,” she told People. Her cheat meal “depends,” she says. “I mean, dare I sound repetitive, but Mexican food is a real favorite of mine. It's not even that much of a cheat, to be honest. Or a cheeseburger or pizza or pasta — all that stuff.”

She Tries to Get Enough Sleep

“My bigger challenge is sleep. I think that’s all part of our nutritional hygiene — the amount of water we get as well as the amount of sleep we get. It’s the combination of all of those things that make your workouts the most effective," she told TODAY.

“I’ve become gentler with myself,” she says of her approach to fitness, which has “definitely evolved” over the years. “I find that I can be gentler on my body and still get the benefits of a great workout,” she told Prevention. She specifically loves P.Volve workouts, a functional fitness that helps you “function throughout the day” and “work out your essential muscle groups to keep your body strong,” she says. “So you can live a long, healthy, strong life.”

She Hydrates

Aniston prioritizes hydration, drinking a whopping 100 ounces of water per day. "But occasionally I just have to have a Diet Coke—there's nothing like it!" According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is essential for various reasons. Water helps eliminate waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature regular, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.
