Robinson enjoys protein and healthy vegetables for her everyday meals, especially fresh carrots. "Since 1/2 cup of carrots only have 41 calories, they can actually help you feel fuller longer and in turn, decrease the amount of calories you eat," says Anna Taylor, MS, RD, LD, CDE. "If you're looking to lose weight, try adding some carrots into your food rotation."

Tennis Matches

Robinson loves playing tennis as a fun way to stay active. "Did you know, playing tennis just 3 hours per week can reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease by 56%?" says the United States Tennis Association. "Or, as one long term study shows, tennis players add 9.7 years to their life over sedentary individuals."

Working Out With Kettlebells

Robinson uses kettlebells as part of her workout routine. This sort of strength training workout has many benefits, experts say. "Kettlebells give people more variety in their workouts and offer different variations of body mechanics that allow muscle groups that haven't been previously targeted to be isolated and challenged," says Tyler Hewett, DPT.

Vitamin C Supplements

Robinson takes vitamin C supplements to s upport her health. Vitamin C is easily obtained from foods such as citrus fruits and cruciferous vegetables. "For peak freshness and nutrients, choose fruits and vegetables that are in season where you live," says Devon Peart, RD, MHSc. "Frozen fruit and veggies are a great option, too, especially if you live in climates where seasonal produce is limited."

Berry Lover

Robinson enjoys fresh berries for a go-to snack, especially blueberries. "Clinical research has demonstrated that berries can prevent age-related neurodegenerative diseases and improve movement and brain function," says Karen Ensle EdD, RDN, FAND, CFCS. "Berries can also change the pathways involved in causing inflammation, cell survival, nerve cell transmission and ability of the nerve cell to be flexible."
