Padma Lakshmi in Little Green Dress Stuns While Drinking Milkshake
It's no secret that Padma Lakshmi loves food. She's the host of Top Chef and Taste The Nation, and she's an accomplished cookbook author. And she's also open about her love of desserts and indulging. Lakshmi posted a new reel on Instagram of herself enjoying a milkshake with whipped cream and a cherry on top, from Mel's Drive-In. She captioned the reel, "Lick it up, baby." She Does Online Pilates Classes
Lakshmi tells E! News that she likes to do Pilates, specifically online classes. "Right now I'm taking online classes with my Pilates instructor Britni Lariviere (@CarrotsandPlanks)." Lakshmi is a big fan of Pilates, telling Women's Health, "I started going to Pilates a few years ago, because my chiropractor recommended it for my back. Pilates changed my body. It made me strong in places I didn't know I needed to be. I have a butt now that I didn't have during my modeling career!"
She Jumps Rope
Lakshmi is a big fan of jumping rope, and tells E! News that she does so every day. "I'm also trying to jump rope- 2,000 strokes each day," she says. Lakshmi also told Hamptons magazine, "I carry a jump rope in my bag."
She Eats Healthy & Eliminates Unhealthy Ingredients
Being the host of two series about food, Lakshmi has to eat a lot more than most people. She tells Access that she gains about 15 pounds each season. Lakshmi says that in order to lose this weight, she eats really healthy during the off-season. "Beyond that to get the weight off it's really hard, there are no tricks, it's just eating healthy. I don't drink alcohol. I don't eat fried food. I don't eat red meat. I don't eat any dairy, except low-fat cottage cheese and non-fat yogurt. I don't eat sweets. Oh, and I don't eat flour."
She Takes Care Of Her Endometriosis
Lakshmi is open about being diagnosed with endometriosis. In a revealing Instagram post, she talked about how she was feeling. "I haven't talked about it much, but my hormones are a literal mess. I feel like I'm going through puberty again. My body is at best, up and down, and my time in the gym doesn't produce the results it once did. I've also been super sensitive and easy to anger (or is that just the patriarchy?) We may never know." Lakshmi also wants to raise awareness and support others who suffer from endometriosis. "I wanted to raise awareness so that no young girl has to wonder what is wrong with her like I did for so many years," she told People.
She Eats Natural Foods
Lakshmi broke down her typical diet to Women's Health, and revealed that she eats a lot of natural, plant-based, food. "I think the best rule of thumb is to eat foods as close to nature as possible," she says.
She Indulges With Her Daughter Occasionally
While Lakshmi tries to eat as healthy as she can, she does occasionally make time for some indulging. She tells Women's Health that she likes to have midnight snack nights, with her daughter, Krishna. "I have my midnight nacho night with Krishna probably once or twice a week," she says.
