She Loves To Dance
Díaz enjoys dancing—the more glittery the costume, the better. "We know that movement is good for everyone," says Emily Sandow, supervisor of dance physical therapy at NYU Langone's Harkness Center for Dance Injuries. "A healthy lifestyle is integrating the mind, body and soul relationship, and dance has all of those characteristics. Everyone can do something, even if it's just you just tapping your foot. Everyone can do something where they can move their body to music, and that's really valuable."
She Enjoys Charcuterie
Díaz is a big fan of a simple charcuterie board consisting of delicious cheese and meat. "There are certain cheeses that can help your gut health," says registered dietitian Alexis Supan, MPH, RD. "Options like cheddar, Parmesan, Gorgonzola and Gouda are all excellent cheeses when it comes to providing us some good bacteria and keeping our gut happy."
She's Drinks Beer
Díaz enjoys an occasional beer when socializing. "The main ingredient is usually pure, spring water from a reliable source," says Jim Collins, MD. "It contains no cholesterol or fat, but has low to moderate levels of carbohydrates. Beer does contain an average of 25mg of salt, which isn't all that bad. And, the good news is that most beers contain protein, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and vitamins B, B2, and B6."
Cucumbers For a Snack
Díaz loves to snack on delicious sliced cucumbers. "Cucumbers are a great source of dietary fiber, vitamin C and K, magnesium, manganese, and potassium," says registered dietician Nicole Swingle. "They are also a great food source of water and can help one stay hydrated, especially in the summer months."
She Swims
Díaz enjoys spending time in her pool. "Many people say that by simply being in the water they feel more relaxed and less stressed," says swimming instructor Emily Morrissey. "Regular exercise helps reduce anxiety and depression, as it releases 'feel good' hormones and keeps our brains working in a healthy way. Learning to swim can allow you the opportunity to swim in beautiful places outdoors which many people find to be memories they cherish."
