Meet Hailey Barragan, a powerlifter and fitness coach who empowers her Instagram followers with top-tier workout advice. Recently, Barragan unveiled her go-to warmup routines, capturing her followers’ attention with an invitation: “Steal my warmup 👇🏻1-2 rounds is all you need!” Her post demonstrates essential exercises like Quadruped Thoracic Rotation and HK Kb Bottoms Up Shoulder Press, promising an efficient start to any workout session. Hailey’s approach to fitness is straightforward yet powerful, focusing on effective movements that prepare the body for intensive strength training. Her passion is evident as she guides her audience through each exercise, ensuring they’re fully equipped to tackle their training sessions with vigor.

1. She Strength Trains

In her Instagram post, Barragan is seen doing strength training workouts. The Mayo Clinic states that these exercises have a lot of benefits. “Want to reduce body fat, increase lean muscle mass and burn calories more efficiently? Strength training to the rescue! Strength training is a key component of overall health and fitness for everyone. Lean muscle mass naturally diminishes with age. Your body fat percentage will increase over time if you don't do anything to replace the lean muscle you lose over time. Strength training can help you preserve and enhance your muscle mass at any age.”

2. She Stretches

Hailey Barragan.2Hailey Barragan/Instagram

Barragan is seen doing stretches in her Instagram video. Harvard Health states that stretching has a lot of benefits. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

3. She Builds Quad Muscles

Barragan makes sure to build and work her quad muscles. She shared her secrets in this Instagram video, and captioned it, “Eat enough food to grow, get a good amount of squat volume in, add in some leg extensions, a unilateral squat/lunge movement, train with enough intensity, and do it long enough to see the results 🙃Happy lifting!!”

4. She’s Inspired By Others

Barragan is inspired by the women she works with. After a workout session, she shared these highlights on Instagram. Barragan captioned the post, “There is nothing cooler than seeing women take up space in the weight room getting stronger and more confident. 😍😍Here are some highlights from our strength block that we just wrapped up! @ktdabrowski and I are so dang proud of this team. It’s been so inspiring to see this community grow and to watch so many amazing women take charge of their fitness journeys and show up for themselves. And they are getting so strong! This is just the beginning! 🥂”

5. She Likes Salmon

Barragan makes sure to eat a healthy diet. She shared some of her favorite recipes in this Instagram post. Barragan captioned it, “These thighs are NOT going to grow themselves 😤” In one photo, she is seen enjoying an air fried salmon bowl with veggies like carrots and cucumbers.

Kerly Ruiz Shares "Workout of the Day"

Find out how she stays fit and healthy.

Kerly Ruiz is training her legs – in her two-piece workout gear. In a new social media post the fitness personality shows off her amazingly fit figure during an exercise session. “Workout of the day!! Here I leave you today's exercise for quadriceps!!” she captioned the Instagram post. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Here's What She Eats in a Day

Kerly shared a sample day of eating, starting with breakfast: 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg

30g of oats or 1/2 potatoes. Next up, a snack, a protein shake and 2 small Colombian potatoes. Then, for lunch she has 140g chicken with 100g rice and a green salad. For a snack she has 90g shrimp and zucchini vegetable pasta. And finally, for dinner she has 110g of fish with 1 egg and green salad.

Intermittent Fasting

In order to “lose weight, burn fat and get super fit” Kerly intermittent fasts, which she calls her eating method. Intermittent fasting works by “prolonging the period when your body has burned through the calories consumed during your last meal and begins burning fat,” explains Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Low Carb Diet

Kerly is on a low carb diet, she told El Estimulo, revealing she only eats “light” sandwiches. “I try not to eat a lot of bread because it makes my belly bigger, but when I can, I use whole wheat bread. I try to combine it with protein, which is very important to maintain muscle. I like to put some dressings that give flavor to the sandwich so that the diet is pleasant and I don't get bored,” she says. “Olives, avocado, olive oil, alfalfa, whole wheat toast, a grilled chicken breast and a little mustard, because it's the only dressing that doesn't have calories. No mayonnaise, no tomato sauce.”

She Counts Calories

“My diet only allows me a low-calorie sandwich, between 150 and 180 calories, which could be eaten mid-morning - I eat 6 times a day - because you can't eat carbohydrates at night. I try to find the right flavors, since I live on a diet. I put a little bit of what I have at home, avocado, which even though it has fat, it's the good kind, tomato too, so to speak, you can't overdo it either, and olive oil, which is a good fat for the body, skin, hair and nails,” she added.

No Mayo

One ingredient that she would never put in a sandwich? “Mayonnaise because I think that first of all it's greasy for the skin, it gives you acne and secondly it goes to your belly, your rolls. I don't like mayonnaise at all,” she said.

Jessica Buettner is a very successful powerlifter. She is known for winning the IPF World Championships twice. Buettner is recovering from a back injury, and is sharing her recovery process on Instagram. In a video, she is seen doing some weightlifting exercises. Buettner captioned the post, “Training recap 🤡😂 tweaked my back about 3 weeks ago, nothing serious but I’m annoyed at myself for doing it nonetheless because once it seizes up I work long hours standing and it is hard to get back to normal. An ongoing problem for me a couple times a year for the past several years. Anyways, @miketuchscherer has put less specific movements in my program to help me recover and also in the last couple weeks reintroduced squats and deadlifts using the @reactivetrainingsystems framework for doing that and so far it’s been working very well. I also got some advice and adjusted how I stand at work and it’s helping too.”

1. She Lifts Weights

Buettner lifts weights to keep herself in shape. ACE Fitness states that weightlifting has a lot of benefits. “Using heavy weights increases intramuscular coordination, the number of type II motor units and the amount of muscle fibers engaged within a specific muscle. Have you ever felt your muscles shaking while lifting heavy weights? This is because you are recruiting and activating the larger type II muscle fibers, which are only stimulated to work when a muscle is challenged with heavy resistance or working to fatigue.”

2. She Deadlifts

Buettner likes to do deadlifts to keep herself in shape. She is seen doing them in this training video on her Instagram. ACE Fitness states that deadlifts have a lot of benefits. “When done correctly, the RDL is an effective exercise that helps strengthen both the core and the lower body with one move. Unlike the traditional barbell deadlift and other quad-dominant exercises such as leg presses, which place significant loads on the anterior portion of the knees, the RDL focuses most of the physical work on the muscles responsible for extending the hip and the knee from the posterior.”

3. She Does Squats

Buettner also likes to do squats to stay in shape. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing them. Buettner captioned the post, “I think this is a rep PR on squats but I’m not sure - either way I’m super happy with the way it moved! Queues I still focus on almost every time I squat: -keeping even foot pressure - keeping the bar secure on my upper back. Bracing comes pretty naturally as I warm up, and I do think about things like improving the speed of my descent, and depth. Anyways, happy lifting everyone!”

4. She Hikes

Buettner doesn’t just workout in the gym. She also likes to spend time outside. One thing she likes to do is to go for hikes. Buettner shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself hiking in Malta. She captioned the post, “An amazing day in Malta 📍trained, saw some ancient ruins, a cathedral and some amazing sights. They introduced a one day break in the competition schedule at IPF worlds this year and I’m a big fan.”

5. She Doesn’t Focus On Being Perfect

Buettner doesn’t focus on being perfect, especially on social media. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “A quick tip to make you feel better if you’re filming yourself in a brightly lit gym. Most people probably know this trick for giving your videos dark Batman vibes, but at any rate remember social media is mostly an illusion and even people like me who don’t edit/photoshop photos still do things like this. Little things that really overemphasize a physique. Anyways have a good day everyone 💪”

Heather Connor is a professional powerlifter. She shares a lot of her favorite workouts and training process on Instagram. Connor recently posted a video of herself doing squats with a barbell. In it, she wore a white shirt and green shorts. Her followers gave her a lot of compliments in the comments section.

She Lifts Weights

Naturally, lifting weights is the main thing that keeps Connor in shape. ACE Fitness states that using weights has a lot of benefits. “Lifting heavy weights increases production of the hormone IGF-1. This hormone is related to the production of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which is a neurotransmitter responsible for stimulating the growth of new neural pathways in the brain along with enhancing communication between existing pathways. In short, lifting heavy could make you smarter by enhancing cognitive function.”

She Does Squats

Connor is seen doing squats in her Instagram video. According to The Cleveland Clinic, squats have a lot of health benefits. “Proper squatting form requires you to reaaaaally engage your core — the muscles of your stomach, pelvis, hips and lower back. These large muscle groups support every move you make, both large and small, so keeping them strong helps keep you well. Strong core muscles play a role in: Maintaining good posture. Relieving back pain. Lowering your risk of injuries like hip flexor strains and sports hernias.”

She Does Deadlifts

Another strength training exercise that Connor does to keep herself in shape is deadlifts. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing them with a barbell. Connor captioned the post, “207.5kgs/457.5lbs for a huge PR to finish out the last heavy deadlift session before my comp next weekend 😈” ACE Fitness states that deadlifts have a lot of benefits. “When performed correctly, the deep muscles of the spine work to maintain stability, while the hips allow the movement of flexion and extension. The lift can help strengthen the posterior chain muscles responsible for extending the hip and knee when the foot is planted on the ground. Finally, the RDL can improve endurance strength of the deep core stabilizers responsible for controlling the position of the spine, as well as strengthen the forearm flexors responsible for developing a strong grip.”

CrossFit athlete Bethany (Flores) Shadburne works hard to maintain her health and overall strength. “Try this barbell warm up out for shoulder to overhead movements! Stole this from the one and only @coachrandyf2 . And then some strict press and push press work in the last couple of slides 🙌🏽I usually do 2 sets of the warm up with just the barbell, 3-5 reps of each movement,” she said on Instagram while working out. Here’s what she does to stay feeling and looking so fit.

1. She focuses on her shoulders

She builds up to her shoulder workout. “Warm-up for shoulder to over head movements! Side plank lateral raise. Scap push up. Single arm plank hold. Scap pull ups. Overhead carry,” she said on a series of videos on Instagram. According to Harvard Health, “building strength, stretching, and improving posture will improve shoulder health and keep you in action. Your shoulders are a crucial part of your mobility and independence. You need them to be healthy and pain-free so you can drive a car, lift groceries, do housework, or pick up a child.”

2. She works her glutes

While working out with weights, she posted one of her favorite glute workouts with a barbell. “Landmine RDLs from the other day! These have become one of my favorite accessory exercises these days 🤪 They get my glutes feeling spicy,” she said on Instagram.

3. She has a routine

She thrives on having a routine. “The face you make because you are a homebody and love your routines. 🙋🏽‍♀️ anybody else?! Traveling is awesome and such a privilege but nothing beats being home and being in my routines! One of my favorites of course is my morning routine where I make my own cup of coffee ☕️ while wearing my toes spacers while walking on my rock mat,” she said on Instagram.

4. She warms up

She warms up her body for training. “A general warm-up flow 🤸🏽 This is something I pretty much do daily before any training day. Things have changed and morphed over time and I’m sure they will in the near and far future but this is what I’m currently doing. Some of it may make sense, some of it may leave you scratching your head. But these have helped put my back into a position to where I can live and lift. Goal with some of the glute specific exercises is get on the left side because most people, including me, stand more on the right side which can cause irritation within the back because we are twisted,” she said on Instagram.

5. She puts in the work

She posted videos of her doing a series of workouts, putting in the work needed to be successful. “Successory work 💪🏽 Split stance good morning x10 each. Bodyweight back elevated hip thrust x20. Weighted knee raises x15, last set straight into max set bodyweight. Try it out! 🤪,” she said on Instagram.

Jen Heward is a fitness influencer. A few weeks ago, she shared a workout she did while she was pregnant on Instagram. In it, Heward is seen doing things like lunges, bicep curls, and modified push-ups. Heward captioned the post, “Always picking wedgies 🐫🤣 Killer full body burn 🔥 from the drafts!! Little did I know I was going to have a baby 2 weeks from the day this was filmed 🥹 I actually haven’t done a full body since this workout 🤣 I’m inspired by my own videos to get back into it again 💪🏼”

She Strength Trains

In her Instagram post, Heward is seen doing exercises with weights. This has a lot of benefits. ACE Fitness states, “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Does Lunges

Jen Heward doing lateral lunges

Jen Heward/Instagram

Another exercise that Heward is seen doing in her Instagram post is lunges. According to The Mayo Clinic, this exercise has a lot of health benefits. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles. The lunge is a great conditioning exercise for many sports, especially those that involve lunging movements, such as tennis, basketball or soccer.”

She Does Core Workouts

Heward likes to do core workouts to keep herself in shape. She shared some of her favorite core exercises with ankle weights in this Instagram post. Heward captioned it, “Strengthening these hips and core back postpartum 🔥 plus quite a few of you were asking for some inner thigh exercises! SAVE 4 LATER. It might not look like much for core, but you need a whole lot of deep core stability for these leg exercises. This way you hit more than one muscle group at a time! The workout took me 30 min but had me 🥵”

She Does Pull-Ups

Heward shared this workout video on Instagram. In it, she is seen doing pull-ups. According to Gymless, it can be very beneficial to do these. “Pull-ups are one of the most fundamental calisthenics exercises that build up your strength and endurance in the upper body. It is commonly used as a form of physical test from schools all the way up to the military. Many athletes from all sports backgrounds use pull-ups in their training, which makes this one of the best exercises for building the upper body and developing a bigger and stronger back.”

She Does Hip Thrusts

Jen Heward does hip thrusts in her home gym

Heward is also seen doing hip thrusts in the previous Instagram link. Gymless says that these are very beneficial for your glutes. “Strong glutes are not only for aesthetic appeal; they serve a key functional purpose in supporting the posterior chain of muscles around the spine. Hip thrusts are also known for their capacity to develop and define glute muscles, contributing to their popularity on social media. After all, who doesn’t appreciate the look of a well-crafted pair of glutes?”

Recently, Ence shared a video of herself doing interval weight training. In it, she is seen doing things like burpees, deadlifts, and sit-ups. Ence captioned the post, “So here’s one of my favorite ways to break a sweat. 🔥 It’s challenging, mentally engaging, and interval style, which always keeps it fun.”

She Lifts Weights

As you can see from her Instagram video, Ence likes to lift weights to keep herself in shape. She shares a lot of other posts of herself using weights. According to ACE Fitness, lifting weights has a lot of health benefits. “Lifting heavy weights elevates levels of anabolic hormones—specifically testosterone, growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1)—which are used to repair muscle fibers damaged during exercise. This helps the muscle fibers to become thicker and capable of generating higher levels of force.”

She Does Deadlifts

Ence is seen doing deadlifts in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness says that this exercise has a lot of benefits. “One significant benefit of the RDL is that it teaches clients how to lift from the hips instead of using the lower back. The base move of the RDL is the standing hip hinge, which is an important component of learning how to squat correctly. The first move during the lowering phase of the squat should be the hips moving back in a flexed position. Back pain is often associated with not using the hips properly when squatting or bending over to pick an object up off of the ground. Teaching clients how to lift safely in the gym means they m

Burpees workout your entire body and are great for building strength and burning calories.”

She Does Sit-ups

Brooke does AMRAP sit-ups

Another exercise that Ence is seen doing in her Instagram video is sit-ups. The Cleveland Clinic says that sit-ups are very beneficial. “Sit ups are essential for strengthening your core — something that’s obvious. But your core is responsible for so much more than those classic ‘six pack’ abs many strive for. A strong core can reduce back pain, improve balance and increase your flexibility. Core muscles also support your hips and pelvis. Finally, a strong core will help you build good posture.”

She Jumps Rope

She Loves Raspberries

Pellacani’s yogurt dish includes raspberries. The Cleveland Clinic states that they have a lot of benefits. “Raspberries are also full of antioxidants and nutrients called polyphenols that decrease oxidative damage. Like their blueberry cousin, they’re high in fiber to aid in digestion, blood glucose control and weight loss. There’s more, too. Raspberries also are great sources of: Vitamin C. Manganese. Potassium.”
