She Never Skips Breakfast
Breakfast is certainly the most important meal of the day for Jhangiani. "I'm most hungry in the morning so I can't do anything until I have my breakfast," she says. "For me it's the most important meal of the day. I eat two whole eggs, yolks included. I can't stand eating only the whites. I have a glass of juice mid-morning."
Lots Of Seafood
Jhangiani enjoys lunches and dinners heavy in delicious seafood. "Several extensive scientific studies have shown that people who eat fish regularly (1-4 servings/week) have a lower risk of heart attacks, strokes, and complications from heart disease," says registered dietitian Jenn Gerard Lovewell. "Omega-3 fatty acids tend to get all the attention for this, but the beneficial effects are more likely due to the synergy of a wide range of vitamins and nutrients that are abundant in fish."
Everything in Moderation
Jhangiani never diets, but she is mindful of portion sizes. "Luckily I don't have a tendency to put on weight," she says. "I'm not a big eater so I don't avoid any type of food- I have my butter on my toast and my sugar in my tea. I eat chocolates when I feel like it. I can eat absolutely anything and everything, even oily food. The main thing is that I never overeat. Even if I feel like binging I'm not capable of eating something like five rotis! I can't eat one huge meal. Instead I eat many small meals throughout the day."
Passionate About Skincare
Jhangiani never goes to bed without removing her makeup. "No matter how exhausted I am, I never miss to remove my makeup," she says. "Besides, I drink a lot of water and follow a healthy diet although, I must admit, I eat a lot of non-vegetarian food which nowadays is not the right way, I know well."
She Dances for Exercise
Dancing is Jhangiani's favorite way of getting exercise. "I try my best but for me going to the gym has never been a regular feature," she says. "If I've just got out of a long schedule it takes me about a week to get back into the routine of working out. I'm not a big fanatic but I do try and make it at least twice a week. Other than that I dance a lot and have to perform at many shows so I keep my body in shape with that. I do more weights than cardio because I have a narrow frame. I work out specifically on my arms and legs. I do 100 stomach crunches every time I work out. My workout generally lasts for one hour."
