Breakfast is certainly the most important meal of the day for Jhangiani. “I'm most hungry in the morning so I can't do anything until I have my breakfast,” she says. “For me it's the most important meal of the day. I eat two whole eggs, yolks included. I can't stand eating only the whites. I have a glass of juice mid-morning.”

Jhangiani enjoys lunches and dinners heavy in delicious seafood. “Several extensive scientific studies have shown that people who eat fish regularly (1-4 servings/week) have a lower risk of heart attacks, strokes, and complications from heart disease,” says registered dietitian Jenn Gerard Lovewell. “Omega-3 fatty acids tend to get all the attention for this, but the beneficial effects are more likely due to the synergy of a wide range of vitamins and nutrients that are abundant in fish.”

Jhangiani never diets, but she is mindful of portion sizes. “Luckily I don't have a tendency to put on weight,” she says. “I'm not a big eater so I don't avoid any type of food- I have my butter on my toast and my sugar in my tea. I eat chocolates when I feel like it. I can eat absolutely anything and everything, even oily food. The main thing is that I never overeat. Even if I feel like binging I'm not capable of eating something like five rotis! I can't eat one huge meal. Instead I eat many small meals throughout the day.”

Jhangiani never goes to bed without removing her makeup. “No matter how exhausted I am, I never miss to remove my makeup,” she says. “Besides, I drink a lot of water and follow a healthy diet although, I must admit, I eat a lot of non-vegetarian food which nowadays is not the right way, I know well.”

5. She Dances for Exercise

Dancing is Jhangiani’s favorite way of getting exercise. “I try my best but for me going to the gym has never been a regular feature,” she says. “If I've just got out of a long schedule it takes me about a week to get back into the routine of working out. I'm not a big fanatic but I do try and make it at least twice a week. Other than that I dance a lot and have to perform at many shows so I keep my body in shape with that. I do more weights than cardio because I have a narrow frame. I work out specifically on my arms and legs. I do 100 stomach crunches every time I work out. My workout generally lasts for one hour.”

"I had to say bye-bye to all the happy weight and bring a transformation because my character needed that,” she explained. “If you are playing a naagin you need to look sexy, fit and someone who can easily do the stunts. The previous seasons' actresses, who played naagins, had already set a bar so high, that it was important to look different and set a new trend."

In Naagin 5, Chandna did a lot of her own stunts. "When I signed up for the show, I did not have time to go to the gym, because we were shooting for 12-13 hours,” she tells Times Of India. “Naagin is not a show that requires you to be at one place throughout the day. The show had a fast pace, we had to run around a lot because of outdoor scenes and do a lot of stunts and action scenes. This helped me burn my calories, so I was burning good calories on the sets, shooting for 12-13 hours."

Chandna opened up about her diet to Times Of India. She says that she believes in eating a balanced diet. "I used to eat bhakhri, rice, veggies, chicken and fish. I also consumed jowar bhakhris. I kept away from junk food but I had my 'cheat' days when I used to go out and eat pav bhaji and pizza. The idea was to be physically active and run around a lot, eat in small proportions than totally deprive yourself."

"I am thankful that I achieved my fitness goals playing a Naagin,” she says. “I have time on hand. I will again go back to doing my zumba and pilates to maintain my fitness levels."
