Zegler has amazing skin, and she needs to take care of it. She tells Vogue that skincare is extremely important to her. "When you make movies, people come up and retouch your hair and makeup all day. So what starts out as very light makeup turns into 13 layers of concealer by the end of the day. That takes a toll on your skin, so you want to do as much as you can to soothe it and avoid any breakouts, spots, or bumps."

Zegler is extremely close with her family, and they are very supportive of her career. "My relationship with my family, my 'core four,' as I call us—my mom, my dad, my older sister, and me—has stayed the same, truly," she says to ELLE. Zegler's mom also went with her to the set of West Side Story each day. "I truly think that I would've lost my mind if I didn't have her there, even after I turned 18," Zegler says.

Zegler tells ELLE that she believes in herself and her abilities as an actress. She says that this confidence encouraged her to audition for West Side Story. "I really believed in my talent very early on, and probably in a psychotic way, to the point where I was, 'Yeah, I'm in an audition for a Spielberg movie; maybe then I won't go to college.' That was the idea I had."
