1. She Keeps Herself Accountable

Rebel’s first step in getting healthy was publically setting her goals. "For the last few years, I've been theme-ing my years. So I had the 'Year of Fun,' last year I had the 'Year of Love,' and this year it's gonna be the 'Year of Health' because I turned 40 this year in March," she said an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. "I never really focused on my health, which was probably obvious. I was going all around the world jet-setting everywhere and eating a ton of sugar. That was kind of my vice. I have a very sweet tooth. I love desserts.”
2. She Celebrates Small Achievements
Rebel admitted to People that she shows off her weight loss "on Instagram shamelessly.” However, in the process she is staying accountable and celebrating each victory -- which helps motivate her to reach her next goal.
3. She Addressed the Mental Aspect of Physical Health
Rebel realized that physical health has a lot to do with mental. “I think because I approached it from all areas ... the biggest thing that I haven't ever worked on was the emotional side, what I suffered from, I guess, as classical emotional eating … so I really worked on that side," she told Extra about her weight loss.
4. She Found a Diet She Likes
Rebel found success with the Mayr Method was a relatively unknown diet. The star even stayed at their clinic, VivaMayr, where she detoxed via spa treatments, mental health sessions, and underwent a diet and fitness revamp. This included reducing gluten and dairy, eating high alkaline foods like veggies and fish and altering her dietary approach—including when and how she ate.
5. She Prioritizes Exercise
Rebel makes sure to get her workouts in. "This week was super busy but I got up super early 3 times (6am 😜) and went on a hike...even did a couple of 100m sprints to get the heart rate even higher (although my 'sprint' is probably someone else's 'slow jog' 😝) but I felt proud of myself and now only 3kg's away from my goal weight!" she wrote on Instagram.
6. She Is Proud of Herself
In a recent social media post including a photo of herself at her “unhealthiest” Rebel gave herself a major pat on the back. “I look back now at that girl and am so proud of what she’s become and achieved,” she wrote. “And just wanted to send out some encouragement to everyone out there struggling with weight or body issues or emotional eating. I feel you. I know what it’s like. But it’s never too late to start improving yourself and trying to be the best version of YOU possible. It’s not a race and it’s not a competition - it’s about respecting yourself and doing what’s best for YOU. So if you’re out there and reading this today, I just wanted to say: keep smiling and keep trying to be active! Love you guys.”
