1. She Doesn’t Put Too Much Pressure On Her Back, When Working Out

Scoliosis,Spine,Curve,Anatomy,,Posture,Correction.,Chiropractic,Treatment,,Back,PainShutterstock

Roser opened up about her fitness routine to Women’s Health. She says that she has to be careful about what workouts she does, since she has scoliosis. Roser says that she does workouts that are easy on her back. “When I was 14 I was diagnosed with scoliosis, which is a spinal disorder, so that’s why I’ve always struggled with posture, back and muscle pain. My workouts are very specific and arranged around treatment of that. If I have a week or two off, I have to gradually build my body back up to the level that I’m able to work out at, because otherwise it can cause me a fair bit of grief … muscular pain. Ab stuff is really good for me. I do a lot of cardio because that’s low-weight-bearing on my back. Heavy weightlifting is something I have to build up to, and I have to be in a strict routine to be able to achieve the kind of goals I’d like to with that. So all my weight is either bodyweight or lightweight with high reps. Anything that’s too heavy in the front puts pressure on the back. Barre work really hurts my back, too. But I enjoy yoga and I’m a huge fan of pilates.”

2. She Works Out For Herself

David Jones SS22 Wonderworld Season LaunchJames Gourley/Getty Images

Roser tells Women’s Health that she doesn’t let other people’s opinions of her run her life. Especially when it comes to her fitness. “When I first started training, I put on muscle really easily, and I had a lot of feedback from agents – this was years ago – saying, ‘You’re looking a bit strong for the fashion world.’ I started to change my training, but I was changing it for them. Now that I’m a bit older and I’ve really learnt about how my body works and when I feel the best, I’ve learnt to train just for myself. That’s my philosophy.”

3. She’s Comfortable With Herself

Celebrities Attend Venture Beyond by Penfolds EventDon Arnold/WireImage

Being a model, Roser has had to deal with a lot of comments about her body. She admits to Women’s Health that it has gotten to her in the past. However, Roser says that she is a lot more comfortable now. “My body confidence is good now, but there have always been doubts,” she says. “If you don’t get a job, you think, ‘Is it because my measurements are bigger than the girl who did?’ Little things play on your mind. But I learnt pretty quickly that it’s not necessarily me; it’s about what the client is looking for to represent their brand. Once I realised that perhaps I just didn’t fit the bikinis or clothes the way they wanted, I relaxed and started to take care of myself for me.”

4. She Swims

One thing Roser likes to do to stay in shape is go swimming. She posts a lot of photos on Instagram of herself in the water. Roser posted these two photos and one video of herself wading and floating in the water. She captioned it, “I was made for the island life.” Roser also posted these beach photos, captioning the post, “No better feeling.”

5. She Loves Salad

Roser makes sure to eat healthy. One thing she likes to eat are salads. She shared these photos on Instagram of herself enjoying a salad at a restaurant. Roser captioned it, “Hope everyone had a beautiful weekend.” Eating salads is a great way of incorporating more vegetables in your diet. They can also contain sources of protein, like nuts or meat, and fruit.

Melissa Suffield is known for her role on the hit soap, Eastenders. And she’s also become a large presence on Instagram. Specifically, Suffield speaks about motherhood and body positivity. In a recent post, Suffield posed in a black bathing suit, where she shared the different between her actual body and her body that was photoshopped. In the caption, Suffield talked about how people should reject photoshop and share their natural bodies. “Who’s that girl? Because it sure as hell isn’t me. And actually, creating that image caused my body image and self esteem to be the lowest it has been in a LONG time. It’s alarming how quickly I was able to create it too, having never used the app before, and then how shitty I felt when I looked in the mirror and didn’t see that ‘perfected’ person looking back at me. Read on to see 5 ways Melissa Suffield stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Doesn’t Believe In Restrictive Diets

After Kim Kardashian opened up about what she did to get into her Met Gala dress, Suffield spoke out. She criticized Kardashian’s restrictive diet, and encouraged others to avoid techniques like this. "I would hope that it doesn’t need saying, but just in case it does: Losing 16lbs in 3 weeks is not a healthy rate of weight loss. Cutting entire food groups is not sustainable, and it can lead you down a dark path. If your dress doesn’t fit you, get a different dress. Please remember that you are perfect, just the way you are."

2. She Wants Representation

Suffield wants representation of different groups in the media. Specifically, when it comes to advertising. She explains why in this essay she wrote for Grazia. “We like to think we’re smarter than advertising, that we won’t be duped,” Suffield starts. “We KNOW they’re selling a product, and with it an ideal. A perfect image, a smile, a colour palette- a stark contrast to our messy lives. But even though we know this, the power of ads and the relentlessness with which we see them, is that they take hold without us realising. So we might not end up buying the product, but we now believe the scenario to be exactly what we want, and we start subconsciously modelling our lives around something that doesn’t even exist. And when we fall short, we think we’re failing. It's why representation is so important. It’s isolating when you don’t see yourself in the media- and it’s euphoric when you do. It validates your existence, whether you’re seeing a brown skinned Little Mermaid, or a same sex couple with a happy baby in their arms. We’ve come a long way, and every step is in a good direction. But we aren’t done.”

3. She’s All About Self-Love

Suffield is all about self-love, and wants others to feel the same. She shared this video on Instagram encouraging it. “You don’t have to fit a certain idea of beauty,” she wrote in the caption. “You don’t have to possess a specific body type, or shape, or size, or feature. You don’t have to hide away because you fall short of an impossible standard (guess what, we ALL fall short of this standard). You are allowed to feel BEAUTIFUL. And gorgeous, and sexy, and confident, and bold, and strong, and any other damn thing while you’re at it. You deserve to find that thing that you wear that makes you say ‘HELL YES, I’m a goddamn rockstar’.”

4. She Speaks Out Against Filters

In her recent Instagram post, Suffield spoke out against filters and editing techniques on social media. “25% of people won’t upload a selfie without a filter and a whopping 40% of 16–25-year-olds want to change their real life appearance to look like their filtered images,” she explains. “And the damage being done to those (kids and teens are especially vulnerable here) who are comparing their appearances to faces and bodies that don’t even exist, is actually terrifying. So my call is to social media platforms to take action- and specifically to change their terms and conditions to make it compulsory that the use of face and body altering filters and apps must be clearly declared- by ALL users. For the good of the individual, for the good of society, and for the good of the future.”

5. She Builds Confidence

Suffield has a lot of confidence in herself. She shared her tips for building it in this video she posted on Instagram. “Step 1: Remember who you are. Don’t try and be someone else. Step 2: It’s not all about your body. You need to make yourself feel good. Confidence from your body comes from confidence in other areas of your life. Think about what you’re best at, think about what you enjoy the most, and focus all your energies on them. Step 3: Take tiny micro risks.”

1. She Once Wanted to Change Who She Was

INDIA-ENTERTAINMENT-CINEMA-BOLLYWOODSUJIT JAISWAL/AFP via Getty Images

When she was younger, “I just wanted to change who I was. I wanted to be somebody else. I just didn't like who I was. I just decided that, you know, why do I have this hair? Or why do I have this, these lips? So why do I have this body? Why can't I just look like everyone else? And just be a part? And I didn't want to stand out. I wanted to fit in.” One worry? “I used to never put on the light in my bathroom. My bathroom would be dark because I didn't wanna look at my skin,” she told Pinkvilla.

2. Be Humble and Turn Vulnerability Into a Strength

Entertainment India - March 2022Getty Images

Gupta eventually found strength in her feelings. “If you lose touch of humility in your life, everything can go south,” she told Pinkvilla. On the other hand, “Sometimes when you think that your vulnerability is a weakness, it's actually your strength.”

3. She Played Tennis

Tennis.,Spring,Sport,Composition,With,Yellow,Tennis,Ball,And,RacketShutterstock

“I was playing professional tennis. Of course it would play on my mind. Am I doing the right thing for my skin? Will I start looking a certain way? Uh, and at the same time, will I just become so muscular or just become so sort of heavy that, you know, I don't have any femininity left in my body. All of those thoughts came to my mind, but I never wanted to give up my sport because of it,” she told Pinkvilla. She finally gave it up to look after her mental health.

4. She Trusts Her Gut

“In my head, being authentic and being yourself is the most powerful thing a person can do. It is also very liberating. But at the same time, when you’re sitting in a room full of people sometimes, they might not appreciate that, might take it for granted or they might look at you and not take you seriously, and think you are a frivolous person or judge you. Yes, people can judge you for the emotions you have. I am a very emotional person myself. I’ve spent my whole life taking decisions based on my gut and my emotions,” she said, according to HealthShots.

5. She Promotes Self-Love

“Self-love is something that happens when you’re not looking. It’s not one of those things that you decide, ‘Okay, I am going to love myself today’, and it will happen tomorrow. It’s a way of life, it’s a course correction where you say to yourself, ‘Each time I lose track of why I love myself, I have to remind myself,'” she told HealthShots.

Jamie Otis, the influencer, author, podcaster, and reality star, is looking forward to the warmer weather. Otis celebrated Memorial Day Weekend, and posted a stunning new reel on Instagram. In it, Otis walked in a desert canyon. She wore a black bathing suit, showing off her body. She captioned the reel, “This weekend marks the beginning of summer.☀️ We all have body hair, stretch marks, cellulite, and rolls…Wear the suit and go enjoy yourself.👙😎🏝.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Jamie Otis stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Embraces Her Body

Otis is proud of her body, and she wants people to know it. She talks about self-love and body positivity on a lot of her Instagram posts, including her most recent Memorial Day reel. “We all have body hair, stretch marks, cellulite, and rolls,” Otis wrote. “Wear the suit and go enjoy yourself.”

2. She No Longer Takes “Before & After” Photos

One thing Otis is doing to help herself stay confident is not taking “before and after” photos for social media, especially after having her two kids. She revealed her explanations for doing this in this reel. “I'm never taking a degrading "before" pic again. It's just not for me anymore. After having my first rainbow baby, my goal was to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes asap. It was never about health. It's taken me decades to learn that I'm more than my pant size & the number on the scale doesn't define me. Halle-freakin-lujah.

3. She Went On A Cleanse

Otis revealed in this reel that she was about to make a lot of changes to her diet and lifestyle. “Today I am cutting out gluten, dairy, alcohol, and extra sugars bc my skin has been so red and dry,” she explained. “It's like my body has been screaming at me to take better care of it. I've got that eczema on my eyelids, dandruff and itchy scalp, and just ya know, no energy & always feeling physically & mentally drained.”

4. She Worked Out While She Was Pregnant

2019 A+E Networks UpfrontDia Dipasupil/Getty Images

Otis made sure to get workouts in while she was pregnant. On her website, she explained her reason for doing so. “I am committed to staying strong and healthy for me and my rainbow baby. I know that the first half of my pregnancy was a struggle, but I’m getting back on track (and writing this blog/putting it out into the world is my way of holding myself accountable)!”

5. She Opened Up About Her Struggles

In 2019, a controversial “Heartbeat Bill” was passed in some states, which would limit access to abortions, with Alabama banning them completely. When this happened, Otis wrote a guest piece for People about her own abortion, wanting to let others know they weren’t alone, and to reduce the stigma. “I know I’m going to get backlash for opening up about my past. Like I said, my abortions still torment me and I hate that I had to have them. However, am I thankful? Of course. I wouldn’t be able to be a good mother to my daughter right now or have been able to be a good parent to my siblings back then. The cycle continues because there’s not enough education about sex and birth control, and not enough support. There’s not enough constructive discussion about abortion. It sucks. It really sucks. But the truth of the matter is it is a necessary option.”

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Pilates

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.

She’s Consistent

Last year, Culpo was preparing for her wedding. She told E! News that she made sure to be consistent with her wellness in order to prepare. “Really trying to dial in [on] what I eat, how I workout, the workouts that I do. Trying to get them in consistently because you only get married once and I want to feel my best. But this past season it was just hard being so far away from my normal routine and where I typically live."

She Keeps Her Skin Healthy While Traveling

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

She Uses Products With Vitamins

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

She Packs Healthy Snacks

Culpo makes sure to eat healthy. She shared some of the snacks she packs with her with Travel + Leisure. "I love the Kind bars. I love any sort of nuts, to be honest with you. They are a go-to snack for me. I would say Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and some almonds would be perfect! Also, electrolytes to stay hydrated or some sort of collagen beauty powder or something."

Abigail swears that abiding by simple rules helps her stay in shape. “I can’t diet. That just doesn’t work for me,” she told New Beauty. “I started to be healthier by first cutting out soda. Then, I stopped eating after 7 p.m. Finally, I started really watching my portions so I was eating fewer calories every day. And water—lots and lots of water.”

She UsesMyFitnessPal

Abigail explains being accountable for what she eats is crucial. While it’s not “rocket science,” she does use the MyFitnessPal app to track her eating. “I’m the type of person who likes to eat what I want. The app can help anyone do that—you can still eat great food, you just eat less of it,” she added New Beauty.

Pilates

Abigail is a fan of Pilates. “Group workout classes are so big right now, but I always get nervous around other people in settings like that. I have to go at my own pace without a bunch of distractions so, for me, Pilates with a one-on-one instructor works best. It’s not cheap, but then you also aren’t tempted to skip,” she said She added to Men’s Fitness via Muscle & Fitness that the workout “keeps you long and lean” — and the Mayo Clinic agrees. They say it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Balanced Diet

“I love green juices and smoothies. Sometimes I’ll put some protein powder in the morning—I feel like the mix of vegetables, and vitamins and stuff that’s in them, really gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I love BBQ food—my ultimate cheat is a pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and macaroni and cheese from this great place in LA,” she told Men’s Fitness.

Strength Training

Ratchford also lifts weights. “Initially, I made the mistake that a lot of girls do and I was only doing cardio. I just really didn’t see too much change in my body. I’ve been listening to my girlfriends who are in great shape and they say you have to do weight training, you have to go in and do squats. That’s my new thing—I’ve been doing some resistance training, circuit training,” she told Men’s Fitness. The Mayo Clinic explains that strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

Develop strong bones

Manage your weight

Enhance your quality of life

Manage chronic conditions

Sharpen your thinking skills
