She Doesn't Use Too Many Products
Hayek has amazing skin. She shared some of her tips in an interview with Glamour. She believes that you shouldn't use too many products, especially at night. "I believe that sometimes it's good at night to do not a lot of [skin care products]. I will tell you why: Your skin, it's going to do an amazing job. It's going to repair itself. When I don't sleep, like now, I need all of it. But otherwise it's going to repair itself, and so, the most important thing is to clean it super well. Then the secret is never to wash it in the morning."
She Varies Her Morning Skincare Routine
When it comes to Hayek's morning skincare routine, she mixes up what she does. She shared some of her tips to Glamour. "I rinse it. Sometimes I put rosewater. Sometimes not. Sometimes straight to the cream. You have to see how the skin feels every day. Sometimes I go straight to the cream. But not right when I wake up. In the morning your skin, it's perfectly balanced, the pH. Sometimes I have breakfast first and then take care of my skin."
She Chooses The Right Products
Hayek tells Glamour that she learned skincare from her grandmother. She says that she makes sure to choose the best products with the right ingredients. "I think that my beauty routine, and how I see beauty is from what I've learned from my grandmother. It made me realize that there are things that were not out there because [most brands] go by trends. There are things that are really good that are pushed to the side just because they're trying too hard to sell you the new thing to always create some kind of event."
She Limits Exfoliating
In an interview with The New York Times, Hayek shared some of her wellness secrets. And that includes her skincare advice. Hayek says that some popular techniques and tips are ones she tends to avoid, and gives an example. "Exfoliating a lot may make you look good in the short term, but not I think in the long term," she says.
She Makes Skin Products
Hayek likes to use organic products on her skin. In particular, she likes to make her own products with things she finds around the house. She shared some of her favorite ingredients to The New York Times. "You can use a little bit of oatmeal and then some water or almond milk, and a little bit of honey," she said. "You let it soak, and it's a great cleanser that makes your skin very soft."
