1

Skiing Trips

Jenkins loves going on skiing trips with her family (and castmates!). "It's well documented that skiing and snowboarding benefits cardiovascular health, overall fitness, strength, coordination, balance and more," says the Canadian Ski Council. "Due to the versatility of skiing and snowboarding, it can encompass the benefits of a cardio workout, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) session, and strength training session, all in one fun activity."

2

Philanthropist

Jenkins does a lot of charity work, which experts say actually benefits mental health. "When we do things for other people, it makes us feel much more engaged and joyful," says Susan Albers, PsyD. "That's good for our health and our happiness."

3

Hiking

Jenkins loves to hike, which is an excellent cardiovascular exercise as well as being beneficial to mental health. "No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. "Taking in the sights, smells, and feelings of nature has so many health benefits it can even be prescribed by a doctor."

4

Swimming

Jenkins continued swimming throughout her pregnancies. Swimming is the ideal exercise for women who are expecting, experts say. "Submersing your body in water increases circulation, reducing swelling throughout your limbs," says Heather Figueroa, MD, obstetrician and gynecologist at Loma Linda University Health. "The buoyancy of the water takes some of the pregnancy weight off your primary muscles and back, providing both relief and more comfortable movement."

5

Puppy Love

Jenkins loves spending time with her beloved dog. Research shows dog owners enjoy a wealth of health benefits related to the bond with their pet, for example helping you live longer and have a happier life. "Studies suggest that dog owners have lower blood pressure levels and improved responses to stress," says the American Kennel Club.
