She Lifts Weights
Malhotra likes to post some of her go-to exercises on Instagram. One of her favorite ways to work out is to lift weights and do strength training exercises. She posted these two reels on Instagram of herself doing deadlifts with a barbell. Strength training has a lot of benefits for your body. According to the Mayo Clinic, "Strength training can help you tone your muscles and improve your appearance. With a regular strength training program, you can reduce your body fat, increase bone strength, increase your lean muscle mass and burn calories more efficiently."
One of the ways Malhotra likes to stay in shape is by dancing. She has posted several dance videos on Instagram and on TikTok, whether it's by herself or with friends. Dancing isn't just a fun thing to do, it's a great way to stay in shape, and reduce stress. According to a study in PLOS One, "Dancing is a recreational activity which is pursued dominantly to improve one's mood and reflects the stress-reducing capability of the activity."
In a 2018 Instagram live, Malhotra shared some of her wellness secrets with her followers. One of the things she emphasized was the importance of consistency. "Nothing can happen overnight," she said. "Only with regular and consistent training, can your body change."
She Believes In Balance
In the same Instagram live, Malhotra opened up about her diet. She shared some of her favorite foods, and the approach she takes to eating. Malhotra says that while she tries to eat healthy, she does believe in eating a balanced diet. "To lead a healthy lifestyle, you need to have a healthy balanced diet, exercise and rest. I am a fan of desi food and prefer dal chawal with ghee, dahi chawal, and khichdi."
She Doesn't Pressure Herself
In an interview with PTI, Malhotra opened up about her struggles with anxiety in the beginning of her career. "Earlier, I was too harsh on myself as an actor. I would get mad at myself for making mistakes, which was definitely not helping me with anything. I was harsh on myself because maybe I was still trying to learn about so many things, about the industry, the job. Even a small mistake used to tick me off. I was trying to be perfect in everything." Today, Malhotra says that she doesn't put as much pressure on herself as she used to, and is easier on herself.
