Be Patient but Consistent
Sanya believes that getting into shape takes exercise, but also patience and consistency."Nothing can happen overnight," she said during 2018 Instagram live per Deccan Chronicle. "Only with regular and consistent training, can your body change."
Do Strength Training
Malhotra's workouts are mostly strength training based, consisting of weight lifting and other muscle building exercises. In these two reels on Instagram she does deadlifts with a barbell. According to the Mayo Clinic, there are many benefits of this type of workout. "Strength training can help you tone your muscles and improve your appearance. With a regular strength training program, you can reduce your body fat, increase bone strength, increase your lean muscle mass and burn calories more efficiently."
Dance
Malhotra also stays in shape with the help of dancing. Her Instagram and TikTok feeds are filled with photos of the star cutting a rug by herself and with friends. Not only is dancing fun, but it burns calories and relieves stress. "Dancing is a recreational activity which is pursued dominantly to improve one's mood and reflects the stress-reducing capability of the activity," says a PLOS One study.
Maintain a "Healthy Balanced Diet"
Malhotra believes in eating a balanced diet. "To lead a healthy lifestyle, you need to have a healthy balanced diet, exercise and rest. I am a fan of desi food and prefer dal chawal with ghee, dahi chawal, and khichdi," said in the above Instagram Live session.
Don't Put Too Much Pressure on Yourself
In an interview with PTI, Sanya revealed that she suffered from severe anxiety early in her career. "Earlier, I was too harsh on myself as an actor. I would get mad at myself for making mistakes, which was definitely not helping me with anything. I was harsh on myself because maybe I was still trying to learn about so many things, about the industry, the job. Even a small mistake used to tick me off. I was trying to be perfect in everything." Now she avoids putting that pressure on herself.
Try a Vegetarian Diet
"I wanted to become a vegetarian for a very long time. This year, it all happened very organically. Also, because of the second lockdown amid the pandemic," Malhotra told the Hindustan Times. "Since I was alone in Mumbai, it gave me a lot of time to experiment in the kitchen and make good vegetarian and vegan stuff for myself to eat. During all that, I found a lot of substitutes for meat and eggs and dairy that I was used to eating. In fact, now, I'm actually enjoying eating all the substitutes," she added. "I can see a lot of difference (after the decision). I have a lot of energy during the day, and just feel lighter, as opposed to the times when I used to eat non-vegetarian food."
