She loves outdoor workouts.

1

Outdoor Workouts

Roberts prefers outdoor workouts to gym sessions. "I don't really enjoy the gym," she says. "I like to go running along the beach and I like to dance too – that makes me really happy," she says. "And yoga… I think our bodies are so intelligent and can tell us so much about how we're feeling. I want to try and make exercise choices that make me happy on the inside.""

2

Healthy Lunch

Roberts says her weakness is pasta and pizza, but she sticks to healthy food during days when she's filming.  "It depends on the day and how I'm feeling, but breakfast may be scrambled eggs with bacon or sausages," she says. "Lunch if I'm being good might be a salad from the studio canteen – I really like the haloumi salad – and dinner may be steak or salmon and salad."

Weight Training

Weight training is a regular part of Roberts's workout regimen. "Weight training in particular preserves and builds muscle mass, which elevates metabolism and helps prevent weight gain while maintaining mobility," according to Johns Hopkins Health. "Sarcopenia, or loss of muscle mass and function, is a huge cause of physical disability, and it often starts in middle age. Resistance training also increases bone density, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, improves insulin sensitivity, and can help alleviate depression and arthritis."

Almond Lattes

Roberts enjoys almond lattes. "Almond milk is a plant-based drink and is dairy-free, making it a suitable option for those with a cow's milk allergy or for those following a vegan diet," says registered nutritionist Nicola Shubrook. "When compared with other 'milks', almond milk provides one of the least amounts of calories, with levels varying from 30 to 55 kcal per 100ml. This makes it a useful option for those counting calories."

She Loves to Ride Her Bike

Roberts enjoys bike riding with a group of friends. "Nothing works as effectively as exercising with friends," says Harvard paleoanthropologist Daniel Lieberman. "For the vast majority of us, it's hard to exercise and we all have deep fundamental instincts to avoid unnecessary activity. I know my friend's going to be there at 6 am… So I show up, and we always do enjoy it at the end."
