Phillips told Cosmopolitan that she doesn’t always feel happy when she loses weight. She says that she works out to stay healthy and be happy, and not to lose weight. Phillips also wants others to think the same. “I don't want people to think that by dropping weight, you gain confidence because they're two different things. I've felt my most unconfident and my most unhappy when I was skinnier than I've ever been. All I could think about was being skinny, and I thought that as soon as I am skinny, I'll be happy. But it took for me to get to that point to realise 'oh my god, no, that is not what happiness is.’ You need to separate your happiness and your body image."

3. She Learns What Her Triggers Are

Phillips is open about her struggles with her mental health. She says to Cosmopolitan that she is learning what her struggles are, and works to avoid them. "Realising the things that trigger me has been a big part of my journey," she says. "Even now, I'm still unlearning things."

4. She Doesn’t Obsess Over Her Body

Phillips tells Cosmopolitan that she isn’t obsessing over her body and her appearance, as she knows that her body changes all the time. "Our appearance is one thing in our lives that’s constantly changing, so why do we base our self worth on that? I always remind myself that the way I look is the least interesting thing about me. There’s so much more to me than that, so why am I obsessing over what I look like?"

5. She Does Workouts That She Enjoys

Phillips enjoys working out, and she wants others to do the same. She launched her own fitness plan, and announced it on Instagram. "This is exactly what I’ve been doing this year to help me feel my happiest, strongest, sassiest self. This is about actually enjoying your workouts, rather than it feeling like a punishment, not restricting ourselves, and working on our mindsets."

1. She Works Out with Gunnar Peterson

Busy regularly works out with a certain celebrity trainer. “In the early 2000s, I was asked to lose weight for a part, which is not an uncommon thing that happens in Hollywood,” she told People. “Although, maybe it’s getting better now, I don’t know. I hope so, for young actors starting out. But I was told to lose weight for a part, and they sent me to [celebrity trainer] Gunnar Peterson, and he showed me a way into fitness by introducing me to spin classes, showing me the workouts, all that stuff.”

2. Her Children Inspire Her to Exercise

Busy maintains that one of her biggest motivations to stay fit is her children. “My girls have a different experience because their dad [husband Marc Silverstein] goes to spin class always every day, they know that. I do my workout every morning, they know that,” she told People “I feel like modeling behavior for younger generations is so important, and that’s part of the reason why I post my workouts on the [Instagram] stories.”

3. She Has Tried Pole Dancing

Busy recently learned how to pole dance for a movie role. In an Instagram post, Philipps showed off her moves. "Got to go back to my pole work today after healing my bruised ribs and I learned a new thing," she wrote in the caption. "It took a few tries but I got there!"

4. She Exercises for Mental Health

Busy revealed to Health in 2018 that exercise is a great way to keep her mental health in check. “For me, getting the endorphins and the sweat every morning is part of what I think helps me keep [my anxiety] in check,” she said.

5. She Doesn’t Weigh Herself

Busy doesn’t depend on numbers. “I stopped weighing myself almost two years ago, because I noticed that it was giving me anxiety and really affecting my mood,” she told Health. “If you are somebody who wants to make a life change and that scale gets you the motivation of, like, ‘Yes, I got down two lbs. this week!’ I for sure get that. But for me, just being stable in my body has helped me a lot.”

6. She Works Out Daily

“I work out seven days most weeks, but I’m also not hard on myself. If I wake up and I’m exhausted and I can’t … do it, then I’ll give myself a break. I also think there’s a point where I know to push through, ’cause I’ll feel better after I do it,” Philipps told Health. “The best thing you can do if you’re hungover is work out, and then you feel 100 percent better — even if you’re still drunk when you get on the SoulCycle bike.”

Over the past few years, Sydney Sweeney has become one of America’s sweethearts with celebrated roles in everything from hit HBO shows Euphoria and White Lotus to big-screen movies Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Anyone But You. In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills
