1. She Drinks a Coffee Protein Shake in the Morning

Shay drinks her first meal of the day. “I’m not a breakfast person, so for me, it’s usually my coffee-protein shake — an odd concoction of cold brew, ice, two scoops of protein, and a handful of spinach. Some days, I’ll start with celery juice or tea and water with lemon,” she recently dished to The Cut.

2. She Lifts “Heavier” Weights

Shay loves exercising and recently started weightlifting. “I love working out and look forward to the gym. Since having kids, I’ve started getting into weights. It’s invigorating to lift heavier than before. I’m an Aries — we’re very competitive with ourselves and other people,” she told the publication.

3. She Works on Building a “Bum”

Shay does a lot of glute work. “These days, I love doing anything for the bum. On TikTok, I’m seeing all these girls with the little scrunch pants, and I bought a pair for myself and … it didn’t do anything. That’s how I knew it was still time to build a bum,” she told The Cut.

4. She Goes to Therapy”

Shay doesn’t let the haters get to her, as she has been working on hr issues for years with the help of a professional. “If you’re just being negative to be negative, that never has any effect on me, because I know that those people are hurting themselves. I had that experience being in high school. I’ve been bullied. I’ve gone through that, and I’ve had enough therapists to tell me it has nothing to do with me. So at this point, being in my mid-30s, anything just negative to be negative will never affect me. I can promise you that,” she told The Cut.

5. She Drinks Tea Before Bed

Shay practices sleep hygiene. “Before I go to bed, I’ll have sleep tea or something like that, because it’s sometimes difficult for me to turn off my mind,” she told The Cut.

Vicky Pattison, star of Geordie Shore, Ex on the Beach and Judge Geordie, has never not been outspoken. Sharing pictures of her weight loss today, she doesn’t disappoint, using them as chance to stick up for women everywhere, and show the reality of what losing pounds looks like. How does she stay so fit and so strong, and what was her message? Read on to see 5 ways Vicky Pattison stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. This is How She Lost the Weight

“So I've recently lost abit of weight- it's not quite the overnight miracle everyone on social media seems to think it is- it's been happening gradually over the last year through an amalgamation of things & much to everyone's disappointment I'm sure- there's no great big secret to how I did it. I got my contraceptive out my arm after 15years which had a huge impact on my body & also I got the worlds most energetic Pup- who we love DEARLY but needs to be walked between 2-3 hours daily 😂 So there you have it, I'm sorry I can't flog you a transformative pill or workout but you're all lush as you are anyway so please stop being so hard on yourselves ♥️,” she captioned the photos.

2. She is an Advocate for Women

ITV Palooza 2019 - Red Carpet ArrivalsKarwai Tang/WireImage

“Although most people have been really kind about my new bod- there have been quite a lot of nasty comments with people even going as far to say they only liked me before when I was, in their words, an advocate for curvy women,” she wrote. “Listen, I am an advocate for WOMEN full stop. Whatever your shape, whatever your size- & the only reason I started doing my 'Instas versus reality' in the 1st place was to show everyone that we are all capable of taking a good picture for the gram- & we shouldn't be comparing our beautiful bodies to anyone else's- especially not someone else's carefully curated Social media ones.”

3. She Says There’s a Difference Between Posed vs. More Relaxed

National Television Awards 2020 - VIP ArrivalsDave Benett/Getty Images

“If I want to stretch up, put my hands behind my head & suck my tummy in- The end result is going to be this first pic. However if I relax, allow gravity to do its thing & stop trying so hard.. my body moves (Spoiler alert, all bodies move & I quite like my squishy tummy- it's where my pizza lives 😂) the end result is more like this second one,” she explained of the photos. “These posts were only ever meant to encourage all of us to stop beating ourselves up or comparing our bodies to the super posed & unrealistic ones on social. It's ok to want posed pics or more relaxed ones- to let it all hang out or want to go balls to the wall.”

4. She Says It’s Not OK to Tear Women Down

Sex & the City Apartment Pop-Up LaunchMike Marsland/Getty Images

“The only thing that isn't ok is telling another woman how YOU think she should look. Instead of tearing other women down, we should be building each other up... We're all beautiful in our own unique way & trust me, we're all capable of getting a sick pic for Insta 😂” she concluded.

5. She Sets Goals, and You Can, Too

Vicky Pattison attends the launch of Puttshack, Bank inPhil Lewis/Getty Images

“I write out my goals for the week as well as how I plan to achieve them,” Pattison has said. “Eating healthier sounds like a good idea. But what does it really mean? Aim for specific goals instead, such as eliminating soda, eating five servings of vegetables a day or limiting your daily sugar intake to 30 grams of added sugar,” says the Mayo Clinic. “Losing 10 pounds a week sounds great. But it's an impossible goal that likely will leave you discouraged — and more likely to give up on your efforts. Choosing realistic goals that you can meet will reinforce your efforts and keep you moving forward. Losing one pound per week is a realistic and sustainable goal.”

Jamie Otis, the influencer, author, podcaster, and reality star, is looking forward to the warmer weather. Otis celebrated Memorial Day Weekend, and posted a stunning new reel on Instagram. In it, Otis walked in a desert canyon. She wore a black bathing suit, showing off her body. She captioned the reel, “This weekend marks the beginning of summer.☀️ We all have body hair, stretch marks, cellulite, and rolls…Wear the suit and go enjoy yourself.👙😎🏝.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Jamie Otis stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Embraces Her Body

Otis is proud of her body, and she wants people to know it. She talks about self-love and body positivity on a lot of her Instagram posts, including her most recent Memorial Day reel. “We all have body hair, stretch marks, cellulite, and rolls,” Otis wrote. “Wear the suit and go enjoy yourself.”

2. She No Longer Takes “Before & After” Photos

One thing Otis is doing to help herself stay confident is not taking “before and after” photos for social media, especially after having her two kids. She revealed her explanations for doing this in this reel. “I'm never taking a degrading "before" pic again. It's just not for me anymore. After having my first rainbow baby, my goal was to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes asap. It was never about health. It's taken me decades to learn that I'm more than my pant size & the number on the scale doesn't define me. Halle-freakin-lujah.

3. She Went On A Cleanse

Otis revealed in this reel that she was about to make a lot of changes to her diet and lifestyle. “Today I am cutting out gluten, dairy, alcohol, and extra sugars bc my skin has been so red and dry,” she explained. “It's like my body has been screaming at me to take better care of it. I've got that eczema on my eyelids, dandruff and itchy scalp, and just ya know, no energy & always feeling physically & mentally drained.”

4. She Worked Out While She Was Pregnant

2019 A+E Networks UpfrontDia Dipasupil/Getty Images

Otis made sure to get workouts in while she was pregnant. On her website, she explained her reason for doing so. “I am committed to staying strong and healthy for me and my rainbow baby. I know that the first half of my pregnancy was a struggle, but I’m getting back on track (and writing this blog/putting it out into the world is my way of holding myself accountable)!”

5. She Opened Up About Her Struggles

In 2019, a controversial “Heartbeat Bill” was passed in some states, which would limit access to abortions, with Alabama banning them completely. When this happened, Otis wrote a guest piece for People about her own abortion, wanting to let others know they weren’t alone, and to reduce the stigma. “I know I’m going to get backlash for opening up about my past. Like I said, my abortions still torment me and I hate that I had to have them. However, am I thankful? Of course. I wouldn’t be able to be a good mother to my daughter right now or have been able to be a good parent to my siblings back then. The cycle continues because there’s not enough education about sex and birth control, and not enough support. There’s not enough constructive discussion about abortion. It sucks. It really sucks. But the truth of the matter is it is a necessary option.”

1. She Moves Her Body

“As long as you're moving your body, that's a workout,” says Mitchell to Bustle. “It doesn't have to involve lifting weights or following a specific fitness plan.” She added to Forbes: "Chasing after my one-year-old has also been a surprisingly great workout."

2. This is Her “Weird” Wellness Ritual

“I end my showers with five to 10 seconds of freezing cold water, which not only wakes me up, [but] it’s doing something good for my skin — I wish I could tell you about all the amazing health benefits,” she told Bustle. In fact, cold water also soothes your vagus nerve and can relax you.

3. She's Very Into Salad

“I need to learn to make something besides a salad. I don’t want Atlas to just know Postmates or UberEats. I want her in the kitchen helping me and knowing what’s going into our food,” she told Bustle. Her go-to salad toppings are “Kimchi and sauerkraut. I add microgreens, too, because it makes me feel like a chef, and it makes every dish look so fancy.”

4. She Had Prepartum Depression

While growing Atlas, "I had prepartum [depression]. Not post, but pre," Mitchell told Self. “That was something I didn't know back then. I only knew [about] postpartum, so I was preparing myself for that. But then when I was upset and not feeling my best during [pregnancy], I was like, 'Wait, what's this? Nobody talked about this. I should be so happy right now.'"

5. She Does Planks

Mitchell has shown off her plank walks. Try a modified one to start. “This core-strength exercise is called the modified plank,” says the Mayo Clinic. “Lie on your stomach. Raise yourself up so that you're resting on your forearms and your knees. Align your head and neck with your back, and place your shoulders directly above your elbows. Tighten your abdominal muscles.

  • Create resistance by pressing your elbows and your knees toward one another. Neither should move from their positions on the floor. Hold for three deep breaths.
  • Return to the start position and repeat.”

6. She Does Lunges

"[Trainer] Harley [Pasternak] loves lunges, and I'm not the biggest fan of them," Mitchell told SELF during the Propel Co:Labs Fitness Festival with Pasternak, who she trains with. "He loves to see how many you can do, and I don't even know how long we went one time but it was painful. But they do their job," she added.

7. She Had a Similar Pandemic Lockdown to Us All

Celebrities Visit BuzzFeed's "AM To DM" - February 19, 2020Dominik Bindl/Getty Images

"I've been taking everything one day at a time and being gentle with myself when I need to be," she said during the first year of the pandemic. "I always try to remain positive, but there have definitely been days where I just have not been up for working out or taking as good care of myself as I’d like. I’ll get into a good routine but then falter. One day off becomes two. Two becomes five. But I don’t beat myself up over those days," Mitchell said to Forbes. "We’re humans going through a really challenging time and I think we are all entitled to off days," she adds.

It’s been less than three months since Shay Mitchell welcomed her second daughter, Rome, and she’s already showing off her flat abs in a swimsuit! The Pretty Little Liars and You star flaunted her fabulous figure on social media over the weekend, wearing a yellow bathing suit while vacationing with her family in Italy. How does the actress maintain her fit physique? Read on to see 7 ways Shay Mitchell stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Sets Goals

Goal setting helps Shay stay on track. In early 2021 she revealed that after spending 2020 trying to “feel fine,” she was going to make 2021 the year she became the healthiest version of herself. “For me that came in the form of comfort food, comfort clothes and throwing my fitness routine out the window. And that was okay…for awhile. They’re called unprecedented times for a reason. But I also learned about physical and mental self-care, and made a pact with myself that 2021 would be different. I wanted to focus on myself again, because I’m the best version of myself for Atlas - and everyone else - when I take care of myself first,” she wrote on social media.

2. She Exercises

Shay is a big fan of exercise. “A doable time frame 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week for 4 weeks,” she wrote in 2021. “A clear start, a clear finish and a something that I could totally commit to. I have loved getting up these last four weeks and having a routine and a challenge to start the day. I feel more healthy, energetic and engaged…which makes a better me.”

3. Her Food Philosophy? “Everything in Moderation”

Louis Vuitton's "200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries: The Exhibition"Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images

"My food philosophy is everything in moderation," Shay told Women’s Health. "Truly, I'm not one who believes in diets." She also tries to set a healthy standard for her daughter. "I want her to be conscious about what she's eating and where she gets it from. We have been taking her to the farmers market, and I like her knowing that this food came from a specific place,.”

4. She Balances Food and Exercise

According to Shay “it’s all about balance,” when it comes to diet and exercise. “A lot of people that know me know that I absolutely love food, pizza in particular. I work out not only to balance food, but also to keep my mind focused. And for me, that comes in many different forms. It can be taking a walk outside, boxing, or going to dance. Anything physical has such a positive impact on people; the dopamine and serotonin that get released when you work out—afterward, you feel amazing,” she told Byrdie.

5. She Mixes Up Her Workouts

The Daily Front Row's 6th Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Shay does a lot of different workouts. “I have to switch it up because I get bored, so I’ll try different classes,” she said. “Cardio for me is a spin class. I think it’s great. I get so amped up with other people in the room, and there’s just a really good energy about it. So I’ll usually start with a spin class, then it will be something like weights or working out with my amazing trainer—we do a mix of Pilates and leg toning. And then I’ll go take a Body by Simone class. There are so many amazing classes here in L.A., but my favorite is boxing. I love it because there is the cardio at the beginning, and then we’re sparring afterward and then we do stretching and weights.”

6. She Hydrates

Baby2Baby 10-Year Gala Presented By Paul Mitchell - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Shay understands the importance of hydration, especially when she is working out a lot. “I drink a lot of water,” she revealed to Byrdie. “I try to opt out of coffee and drink green tea instead.”

7. She Squeezes in Workouts

2021 MTV Video Music Awards - ArrivalsTaylor Hill/FilmMagic

One way Shay makes sure to get a workout in? Brining a jump rope around with her. “Just taking a skipping rope with you wherever you are is such a good idea because it’s such an amazing workout. It’s the easiest, and I can bring it with me anywhere. And you only need a small amount of space,” she told Byrdie.

For Hewitt, fitness is all about variety. “I try to switch it up a bit,” she told OK! Magazine. “I’ve found that if every week I do something different it tricks my muscles into not getting used to doing any one thing. I’ve been doing pilates, I’ve been doing yoga, I’ve done just plain old walking. I wear 10 pound weights on my ankles while I’m working just so that as I’m moving during the day I’m constantly building muscle. It’s not great for your back but I’m doing it anyway. I do a booty workout thing that I just did for Shape, which was really fun. And I do Zumba. I have DVDs and I dance around like a crazy person in my house.”

She Builds Confidence

Over the past few years, Sydney Sweeney has become one of America’s sweethearts with celebrated roles in everything from hit HBO shows Euphoria and White Lotus to big-screen movies Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Anyone But You. In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
