Indian actress Shriya Pilgaonkar is enjoying the beautiful scenery in Kinabalu, Malaysia. Pilgaonkar shared pictures of herself wearing a bright pink bathing suit in the pool, against a spectacular sunset background. “The sky today is a watercolor painting 😍,” she captioned the post. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Pilgaonkar stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. Pilates and Badminton

Pilgaonkar relied on regular exercise to get through the COVID-19 lockdowns. “I like to do a mix of things to keep fit,” she says. “For me, it’s not just about physical fitness but mental fitness too that is very crucial to the overall being. During Lockdown, I wanted to make sure that lethargy doesn’t kick in so I have been more or less regular about my home workouts. It adds some amount of discipline to my day and routine which I like. Usually, I do a mix of Pilates and functional training. I also play badminton which I love. But now during the lockdown, I have been trying different workouts everyday which breaks the monotony.”

2. Sensible About Diet

Pilgaonkar enjoys whatever she wants in moderation. “I’m a foodie and for me personally, dieting is not about eating less as much as eating at the right time,” she says. “It’s all about moderation. I find it hard to completely restrict myself from sweets because I love it so much so I’ll have dates or things made with jaggery if I want a healthy option. If I want to indulge, I’ll go for it but I won’t ever overdo it.”

3. Almonds First Thing

Pilgaonkar starts her day with almonds and warm water. “Not only are almonds packed with healthy fats and protein, but they’re also rich in antioxidants,” says Carrie Madormo, RN. “These plant compounds can protect your cells from oxidation and premature aging. For an antioxidant-rich snack, enjoy a bowl of almonds and berries.”

4. Home Cooking

Pilgaonkar loves to cook her own food. “When we cook at home, we are in control,” says dietitian Ben Atkinson. “McDonald’s fries have 19 ingredients. We can make them at home with far less — and they will taste just as good. A favorite at my house is potatoes cut into wedges, olive oil, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Put these in a Ziploc bag to mix together. Then place in the oven on a pan for about 30 minutes at 400 F. It’s only five ingredients, and tastes fabulous.”

5. Focusing On Spiritual Life

Pilgaonkar prioritizes her mental health. “Being mentally healthy is extremely important to me,” she says. “It’s very easy to feel constant anxiousness but I try to keep myself in check and observe what things might affect me negatively. I think of it as an ongoing journey trying to better myself and not let the world get to me. I have always been spiritual. I pray everyday, it keeps me grounded. It’s important as an actor to have something that anchors you because this profession is a rollercoaster where there are ups and downs constantly. So for me the idea of success is deeply rooted in achieving all that I want to without losing my peace of mind and sense of self in the process.”

According to an article from Women Fitness, biking has a lot of benefits for women. “Cycling regularly is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of arthritis among women. This works because cycling may help women reduce weight as this activity can burn around 300 calories per hour. Obesity can raise the risk of getting arthritis among women as excessive weight can put a lot of pressure and stress on weight-bearing joints.”

2. She Gets Outside

In addition to biking, Sharma is a big fan of going outside and getting fresh air. She has posted several stunning photos on Instagram of herself spending time outside, or the gorgeous scenery. 1. She Loves To Take Baths

Sharma loves the physical and mental benefits of taking regular baths. “Baths help many people sleep well,” says family medicine provider Amy Zack, MD. “They also create a good environment for meditation, thought and escape from everyday stressors.”

Baths have been a popular way to relax and unwind for centuries, and there are a number of potential health benefits associated with taking a soak in the tub. Here are a few examples:

  1. Stress relief: The warm water and the act of soaking in a bath can help to relax the muscles and reduce stress. In fact, research has shown that taking a warm bath can lower blood pressure and heart rate, both of which can be indicators of stress.
  2. Improved sleep: The relaxation and stress-reducing effects of a bath can also help to improve sleep quality. A warm bath before bedtime can help you fall asleep faster and wake up feeling more refreshed.
  3. Pain relief: Soaking in warm water can help to reduce muscle pain and soreness, particularly after exercise. The buoyancy of the water can also help to take the weight off of sore joints, making it easier to move around.

2. She Swims

Sharma enjoys swimming as part of her fitness regimen. "Because the activity is less weight-bearing, certain groups of people can take advantage of it if they want to be active,” says Brian Wright, associate professor of kinesiology at DePauw University. “One can also continue to do it late into one's age, as opposed to weight-bearing activities like running.”

3. She’s a Dancer

Like most Bollywood stars, Sharma is an accomplished dance performer. “When you begin moving, you immediately release the brain chemicals dopamine, adrenaline, and endorphins, causing a powerful and lasting effect I call ‘energized optimism,’” says Kelly McGonigal, PhD.

4. She Enjoys Indian Snacks

Pani,Puri,,Golgappe,,Chat,Item,,IndiaShutterstock

Sharma is a big fan of pani puri, an Indian street snack consisting of fried dough balls filled with vegetables. "The water used in pani puri are flavors of cumin, mint and tamarind,” says Senior Clinical Dietician Neha Bhatia. “Mint water and cumin are good for weight loss. Not just for weight loss, mint water is good for health as well. It can help in curing irritable bowel syndrome, provide relief to indigestion and improve immunity. Mint also has fiber, vitamin A, iron, manganese and folate."

5. She Loves the Beach

Sharma loves spending time at the beach. “The physical sensation of putting your feet in warm sand causes people to relax,” says Richard Shuster, PsyD. “We’ve been conditioned to think of the beach as peaceful and relaxing. We expect when we go to the beach that we are going to relax.”

Spending time at the beach can have a number of health benefits. Here are a few examples:

  1. Improved mental health: The sound of the waves and the smell of the saltwater can help to relax the mind and reduce stress. In fact, research has shown that spending time in natural environments can help to improve mental health and reduce the risk of depression and anxiety.
  2. Increased vitamin D: Sun exposure is an important source of vitamin D, which is essential for strong bones and a healthy immune system. Spending time at the beach can help you get more vitamin D, which can be difficult to get from food alone.
  3. Increased physical activity: The beach is a great place for physical activity, such as swimming, surfing, or playing beach sports. Exercise is important for overall health, as it can help to improve cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones and muscles, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as obesity and diabetes.
  4. Improved skin health: The sun's UV rays can have a drying effect on the skin, but the saltwater and sand at the beach can help to exfoliate and moisturize the skin. The ocean's minerals can also help to improve skin conditions such as acne and eczema.
  5. Improved sleep: The relaxation and stress-reducing effects of spending time at the beach can also help to improve sleep quality. Getting enough restful sleep is important for overall health, as it helps to repair the body and support immune function.

Over the past few years, Sydney Sweeney has become one of America’s sweethearts with celebrated roles in everything from hit HBO shows Euphoria and White Lotus to big-screen movies Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Anyone But You. In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
