She Works Out Regularly
Regular exercise is a key part of Sofía's stay-fit routine. She told Women's Health that she exercises three or four times a week with a trainer. "Joe built a very nice gym in the house, so I don't have any excuses," she said. She does admit "it's like torture" for her. "I'm in a bad mood two hours before, I'm in a bad mood while I'm doing it, I'm in a bad mood at the end because I have to schedule the next class," she confessed.
She Swears by Pilates
Sofía is a longtime devotee of pilates, which she does on the Megaformer, "which is like an advanced Pilates machine" that combines cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility," she told Women's Health.
She Lifts Weights
Sofía recently started lifting weights. "The one thing that I have done that really has made a difference in my body is lifting weights. Not crazy weights. But, you know, like five pounds, seven pounds, 10 pounds. Twelve pounds is the maximum I can do. It keeps your muscles tight, and your skin tighter to you," she explained to Health. "I've done Pilates and spinning, and I've tried all sorts of things—and they're great."
She Doesn't Diet
You won't find Sofía on the latest fad diet. "I have never believed in crazy diets, so I usually [just] try to eat healthy," she told Celebuzz.
She Fuels Her Body with Antioxidants
"I eat a lot of vegetables, and I eat blueberries, and I drink green tea. And I add, like, a spoon of powdered collagen to chamomile tea at night—I don't know what that does [laughs] but I do it! And I try to drink lots of water," Sofía told Health about her antioxidant rich diet. "Greek yogurt, oats, chia seeds, nuts, and blueberries," is her go-to breakfast, she told Glamour in 2015.
She Believes "Everything in Moderation"
"Everything in moderation. Not too much food, not too much exercise, not too much anything. Everything in moderation," Sofía told Fox News.
She Is "Obsessed" with Sweets
Sofía has a major sweet tooth. "I heard about someone in L.A. who got hypnotized so they wouldn't eat candy," she told Shape. "I'm seriously looking into that because I'm obsessed. When I do indulge, I exercise a bit harder the next day. My workout motto is really simple: No pain, no cake!" She added to InStyle, "My biggest temptation, the thing I can't live without, for sure, is cake. I always have to have cake in my house."
