1. She’s Consistent When It Comes To Her Workouts

Vergara is praised for seemingly not aging since the beginning of her career, and working out consistently is a big part of it. Although she admits to SELF that she doesn’t always enjoy hitting the gym, she does try to go as often as she can. "I’m aging, and I know that it does make a difference and you can see it in the women and men that work out," she says. "Things start to change, and I’m like the only thing to do is go and take care of it."
2. She Eats Healthy During The Week, And Indulges On The Weekend

When it comes to her diet, Vergara tells SELF that she believes in balance, and isn’t afraid to indulge. She says that she mostly eats healthy during the week, and treats herself on the weekends. "We have a lot of healthy things, but we keep a balance," she says. "I do have a lot of fruits and vegetables, and we cook fresh meats. But I also have ice cream and dessert and we do that during the weekend. I try to control myself during the week."
3. She Avoids Salt Before Events

When Vergara has an important event coming up, she has a few rituals that she likes to do. Mainly, she says that she limits her salt intake. "I try not to eat salty things the night before because I'm very sensitive to salty things and get really puffy eyes,” she tells SELF.
4. She Goes For A Mammogram Every Year

Vergara is open about going for her regular mammograms, and encourages her followers to do the same. She posted this photo from the doctor’s office on Instagram, with the caption, “It’s that time of the year.”
5. She’s Educated About Her Body

Vergara is open about her battle with thyroid cancer when she was 28. Rather than freaking out, she tells TODAY that she decided to educate herself and learn how to treat her condition. "When you're young and you hear that word, 'cancer,' your mind goes to so many places," Vergara said. "But I tried not to panic and I decided to get educated. I read every book and found out everything I could about it."
