Sofía Vergara has been regarded as one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood—for so long, in fact, that when she shares a throwback photo, it’s hard to tell if it’s from then or now. The star of Modern Family and Hot Pursuit has a holistic approach to wellness, balancing smart strategies with having fun. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Sofía Vergara stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. Her Workouts Consist of Large, Whole-Body Movements

Vergara’s personal trainer, Gunnar Perterson, broke down the actress’ workout to Shape. Peterson says that he likes to do a lot of large movements with Vergara, as opposed to smaller isolated movements. “If we're going to do a lunge, we're probably going to add an upper body component to it, like a lunge with a wood chop, a side lunge with a wood chop, or a rear lunge with a
lateral raise, or a forward lunge with a front raise."

2. She Loves Pilates

Amy Sussman/Getty Images

Vergara tells Glamour that she is a big fan of doing Pilates workouts, and tries to squeeze in a session as often as she can. “My go-to workout is a Pilates workout on the Lagree Fitness Megaformer machine,” she says. Pilates works. “Pilates mat exercises contributed to increase in the strength and endurance of core muscles in post delivered women and even improve the fitness of women by improvement in cardiorespiratory fitness and decrease in the girth measurements,” one study found.

3. She Goes To Spin Classes

Amy Sussman/Getty Images

In addition to Pilates, Vergara also loves to go to spin classes regularly. Vergara says that the classes are her regular cardio. She says to Glamour, “I also mix in spinning classes for cardio a couple of times per week.” One study found that indoor cycling combined with a healthy diet was beneficial. “According to the results, the indoor cycling and the low-calorie diet helped fight overweight and control serum lipids.”

4. She Takes A Break From Working Out

Amy Sussman/Wireimage

Vergara’s trainer, Jennifer Yates, tells Marie Claire, that she makes sure that the actress takes a few days off from working out. Yates says, "It's fine to give yourself a break—your body comes back stronger. You have to let your body rest, even if you're working out a few days during the week. That's why we rotate with Sofía. We have days in between when she rests. If you exhaust the muscles, you're more prone to getting injured."

5. She Believes In Moderation

Vergara is a big fan of moderation when it comes to her diet. "We have a lot of healthy things, but we keep a balance," she says to SELF. "I do have a lot of fruits and vegetables, and we cook fresh meats. But I also have ice cream and dessert and we do that during the weekend. I try to control myself during the week." “Is it a challenge for you to eat all five servings of fruits and vegetables every day? The 1-2-3 approach can help you pack in all your servings — and more — throughout the day,” says the Mayo Clinic. “Get six servings by eating:

  • 1 serving with breakfast
  • 2 with lunch
  • 3 with dinner and snacks.”

For Throwback Thursday, actress Sofía Vergara decided to share an old modeling video on Instagram. In it, Vergara posed on the beach in her native Colombia. She wore a black one piece swimsuit, showing off her figure. Vergara revealed in the caption that this video was taken 22 years ago, however, she still looks the same way she does now. "#tbt 22yrs👶Colombia🤣," she captioned it. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Sofía Vergara stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Keeps It Simple With Skincare

Vergara has incredible skin, and has been a spokeswoman for several different beauty products. She has to take care of her skin, but that doesn’t mean having a complex routine or using a ton of products. “I used to do masks and scrubs and rubs and things—I mean, I’m crazy about products—but I’ve had to simplify as I’ve gotten older,” she said to Health. “I have rosacea—it’s redness and sensitivity. If you put on too much stuff, there is irritation, so I have to keep it very simple.”

2. She Doesn’t Obsess Over Her Diet

Vergara is open about her previous battle with thyroid cancer. She says to Health that she briefly obsessed over her diet after surviving. However, she decided to just live her life and not worry about what she’s eating. ‘For a while, I got really crazy about what I was eating. But then you realize you can't live like that. You go to restaurants, and you have to eat something. You have to live your life. And no one really knows exactly how people get cancer.”

3. She Lives Her Life

US-ENTERTAINMENT-TELEVISION-AGTJean-Baptiste LaCroix/Getty Images

Vergara tells Health that her cancer battle has taught her to not worry about what will happen in the future. She says that she lives her life, and doesn’t worry about what’ll happen the next day. “When you go through something like this, it's hard, but you learn a lot from it. Your priorities change. You don't sweat the small stuff. And it had a good ending.”

4. She Makes A Healthy Breakfast For The Next Day

Yogurt,With,Muesli,And,Fresh,Blueberries,On,A,Gray,Background,Shutterstock

When it comes to her breakfasts, Vergara likes to keep it healthy, and she likes to plan ahead. She tells Glamour, “I usually prepare it the night before. One of my favorites is a kind of homemade muesli made of Greek yogurt, oats, chia seeds, nuts, and blueberries."

5. She Does A Lot Of Squats

2022 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Radhika Jones - ArrivalsKarwai Tang/Getty Images

Vergara’s trainer, Jennifer Yates, revealed some of the actress’ fitness secrets to Marie Claire. Yates says that Vergara does a lot of squats and leg workouts. "I had to work with her form at the beginning, because when you squat, you want your knees to push back over your ankles. I really want to protect her knees, so I put a bench behind her and wrap a resistance band around her quadriceps. She'll sit down into the chair and comes back up, squeezing her glut muscles as she comes up. You can do it without the bands, but even just sitting down in a chair and coming back up is great, it really engages your abdominals. If you do 25 of those, it's a great way to start gaining strength."

1. She Eats Healthy

Sofía works with celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson, to develop a diet that works for her. Gunnar is realistic, and is really not one to never allow his clients to treat themselves. He also is known for practicing what he preaches, giving up things like late-night sugar and avoiding alcohol for the most part.

2. She Does Whole Body Workouts

Sofía prioritizes efficient, full body workouts with her trainer. "I don't do that many isolation movements, like single joint stuff," Gunnar says. "I do bigger movements. If we're going to do a lunge,
we're probably going to add an upper body component to it, like a lunge with a wood chop, a side lunge with a wood chop, or a rear lunge with a lateral raise, or a forward lunge with a front raise."

3. She’s Never Too Busy To Better Herself

2022 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Radhika Jones - DinnerStefanie Keenan/VF22/WireImage

Sofía doesn't make excuses that she's too busy. "Five minutes for a warmup, 30 minutes for a workout, and five minutes for a stretch and a cooldown. By the end, that's 40 minutes," Gunnar says. "You really don't have 40 minutes? The President is far busier than you, Kim Kardashian is far busier than you, and she can make time. It's about prioritizing."

4. She Keeps Things Fun

Amy Sussman/Getty Images

She sticks with it by picking a trainer that likes to keep things fun in the gym. "I try to keep it fun. I try and put a little bit of levity in it, but at the same time, I don't sacrifice the work. We may goof around and stuff, but we're definitely going to goof around while we're working,” he said.

5. She Cuts Things Out That Don’t Help Her

Celebrity Sightings In Los Angeles - April 2, 2022MEGA/GC Images

Sofía's trainer, Gunnar, says that dropping pasta, grains, potatoes, and rice can help when it comes to slimming down. Watching sodium is important for weight loss, too, because all of this can be factors in retaining water which, according to Gunnar, "blurs, to a certain degree, definition and muscle separation," he says.

Natasa Stankovic in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Wednesday Challenge"

Stankovic shares her go-to workout moves, from squats to lunges, cardio, Pilates, and strength training.

Natasa Stankovic isn’t just a content creator—she’s a fitness inspiration. Known for sharing intense workout sessions on Instagram, she keeps her followers motivated with creative exercise challenges and dynamic routines.

In her latest post, Stankovic teamed up with Aleksandar Illic for a lower body blast, pushing through variations of squats and lunges. Dressed in a sleek two-piece workout set, she captioned the session, “Wednesday challenge,” proving that fitness is all about consistency and fun.

So, how does she maintain her lean, strong physique? From strength training to Pilates, here’s a look at Stankovic’s go-to workout moves.

She Does Squats

Stankovic does squats to keep herself in shape, as you can see in her Instagram video. Piedmont says that this exercise has a lot of health benefits. “Whether you’re hoping to tone your muscles, strengthen your core or just improve overall health, squats are one of the best exercises you can do. Although the movements appear relatively simple, squats can take time to master. Joel Hardwick, ACSM EP-C, EIM2, an exercise physiologist at Piedmont Atlanta Fitness Center, says practice will pay off…Hardwick explains that squats are a compound, multi-joint movement, which means they exercise several muscle groups. When you perform a squat, you work your calves, quads, hamstrings, glutes, core and part of your back.”

She Does Lunges

Stankovic is also seen doing lunges in her Instagram video. The Mayo Clinic reports that lunges are very beneficial to do. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles. The lunge is a great conditioning exercise for many sports, especially those that involve lunging movements, such as tennis, basketball or soccer.”

She Does Cardio

Stankovic likes to do cardio workouts to keep herself in shape. She shared this video of herself doing fast box jumps in different directions on Instagram. Stankovic captioned it, “Morning cardio challenge.” Cardio exercises have a lot of benefits. The Cleveland Clinic says, “When you work your heart and other muscles of your body during cardio exercise, this increases oxygen supply to your whole body, allowing all muscles to work harder and more efficiently. Over time, regular cardio exercise allows your muscles to adapt to an increased workload, making regular activities seem easier.”

She Does Pilates

Stankovic shares a lot of her favorite workouts in an Instagram story highlight. In some of the stories, she is seen doing Pilates exercises on a reformer. Pilates is very beneficial. The Cleveland Clinic says, “One of the reasons Pilates is such a good workout is that it specifically focuses on building core strength.”

She Strength Trains

Stankovic likes to strength train to keep herself in shape. She shared this Instagram story of herself using dumbbells. ACE Fitness says that strength training and using weights has a lot of health benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

Kim French in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Real Results" Workout

Learn how she sculpts her powerhouse physique with deadlifts, lunges, squats, and more.

Kim French is more than just a personal trainer—she’s a fitness coach who empowers thousands through her Believe App and Instagram workouts. Known for her structured, effective home training plans, she proves that you don’t need a gym full of heavy weights to build serious strength.

In a recent Instagram post, French shared a glimpse of her at-home training, reminding followers that smart training delivers "REAL results." Rocking a sleek two-piece workout set, she showcased some of her go-to exercises, emphasizing that with the right strategy, anyone can see progress.

So what’s in her routine? From deadlifts to hip thrusts, here’s how French sculpts her powerhouse physique.

She Does Deadlifts

French is seen doing deadlifts in her Instagram post. This exercise has a lot of benefits. NASM says, “A Romanian deadlift is a hip-hinge pattern that works the hamstrings and glutes. It is a form of deadlift with noticeably less bend in the knee, leading to greater hamstring engagement than traditional deadlifts. The move was introduced to the masses in the 90s by Romanian weightlifter Nicu Vlad (an Olympic and World Weightlifting champion) and his coach Dragomir Cioroslan. The two invented the move to help Nicu strengthen his back for the clean and jerk. Today, RDLs are commonly used to strengthen the posterior chain, using the core muscles to stabilize and the hamstrings and glutes to drive the movement.”

She Does Lunges

Another exercise that French is seen doing in her Instagram post is lunges. NASM says that they are very beneficial. “The lunge is a versatile, simple and effective movement for lower body training. Various positions, planes of motion and speeds can all yield different training adaptations for the exerciser. Lunges are the gift that keeps on giving!”

She Does Squats

French is seen doing squats in her Instagram video. According to The Cleveland Clinic, squats are very beneficial. “Here’s a quick look at the many benefits of squats, also known as bodyweight squats or air squats: Works major muscle groups. Burns calories. Strengthens your core. Improves lower body strength. Enhances stability and balance. Betters your posture.”

She Does Hamstring Curls

French is seen doing hamstring curls in her Instagram post. According to The Mayo Clinic, hamstring curls are very beneficial. “The seated hamstring curl is an exercise you can do with a weight machine to work the muscles in the back of the thigh. As the name implies, the seated hamstring curl targets the hamstring muscles here in the back of the thigh. Strong hamstring muscles help to protect your ligaments in the knee.”

She Does Hip Thrusts

French shared this video on Instagram of herself doing hip thrusts. She captioned it, “Hip Thrusts are no doubt one of the best exercises for building your Glutes but of course with any exercise, the form has to be correct for you to see the maximum benefits…✖️ Feet too far forwards will engage your hamstrings more ✖️ Feet too close to you will engage your quads more ✔️ Feet placed so your calves are vertical will engage your glutes more.”

Oksana Grishina is a fitness powerhouse. A former Ms. Olympia and multiple-time Arnold Classic champion, she’s carved out a name for herself as one of the most elite competitors in the world. Beyond the stage, she’s a dedicated coach, helping others achieve their fitness goals.

Recently, Grishina took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her gym grind, posting a striking photo of herself in peak form. Dressed in a sleek white workout top and black leggings, she delivered an empowering message: “You are stronger than you think.” The post isn’t just motivational—it’s a testament to her relentless commitment to health and strength.

So, how does she stay in such incredible shape? From stair-stepping workouts to consistent weightlifting, here’s a look at Grishina’s go-to fitness secrets.

She Does A Stepmill

Grishina shares a lot of her favorite workouts on Instagram. She recently had a baby, and has been documenting her journey of losing pregnancy weight. One thing Grishina is doing is using a stepmill. She shared this video of herself doing so, captioning it, “Recovery!!! Here we go💪🏼 Instead of the boring treadmill, I decided to do the stepmill 🔥In the process of getting back in shape😤”

She’s Consistent

Grishina makes sure to stay consistent with her fitness. She made sure to workout while she was pregnant. Grishina shared her pregnancy workout in this Instagram post. She captioned it, “Obviously my workout schedule has changed since I got pregnant but hasn’t been one day that I missed it💪🏼My pregnancy workout schedule: Morning- 30 min cardio bicycle or treadmill🚴 Day- 30-40 min light weight or body weight workout 🏋️♀️ Evening- 20 min cardio bicycle 🚴 Will it help keep your shape? Absolutely not but I promise you’ll feel better and stronger.”

She Uses A Stationary Bike

Grishina revealed in the previous post’s caption that she uses a stationary bike to keep herself in shape. Penn State PRO Wellness says, “Riding a stationary exercise bike is an efficient and effective way to burn calories and body fat while strengthening your heart, lungs, and muscles. Compared to some other types of cardio equipment, a stationary bicycle puts less stress on your joints, but it still provides an excellent aerobic workout.”

She Uses A Treadmill

Grishina also revealed in the previous Instagram post caption that she does treadmill workouts. Using a treadmill has a lot of benefits. Healthy Talbot reports, “Treadmills are mostly used for cardio training. However, this fitness machine can be used for more boosting your cardiovascular health. It’s ideal for strengthening your muscles, including glutes, thighs, and calves. With treadmill workouts, you can always optimize the sessions to suit your goals. For instance, inclining the treadmill will stretch out the calves and glutes harder. This will help to tone and build muscle mass in your buttocks, legs, and thighs.”

She Lifts Weights

Grishina is seen lifting weights in the previous Instagram post. Lifting weights has a lot of health benefits. ACE Fitness states, “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”
