1. She Believes In Balance

Vergara tells Shape that she isn’t afraid to indulge in some of her favorite junk foods. However, when she does decide to, she makes sure to workout harder afterwards. “When I do indulge, I exercise a bit harder the next day. My workout motto is really simple: No pain, no cake!”

2. She Lives In LA

Vergara lives in Los Angeles, which is one of the USA’s culinary capitals. While you’d think this could affect Vergara’s ability to eat healthy, she begs to differ. “If you live here, you can’t always order the high-fat dishes like pasta with truffles,” she explains to Shape. “You have a little sushi, and when you’re out with your girlfriends you order a nice salad.”

3. She Uses A Pilates Machine

Vergara loves Pilates as a way to exercise. She tells Shape that she likes to use a Megaformer to workout. “With this machine, I was able to figure out what worked for me. I don’t love it at all, but I love how my body’s changing.”

4. She’s Motivated

While Vergara is praised for her amazing figure, she tells Shape that she doesn’t always look that way. Vergara says that her body’s imperfections are what motivates her to get in shape.“I hit 40 and I started seeing a softness everywhere on my body,” she said. “I knew it was time to do something, so I did.”

5. She Works Out With Her Husband

Vergara and her husband, fellow actor Joe Mangianello, like to work out together. Even if he isn’t always there. Vergara revealed in this Instagram post that she keeps a cutout of Mangainello in her gym as motivation. She captioned the photo, “Who wouldn’t get motivated with that guy in the back staring at you like that!”
