She Keeps Her Workouts Fun

Vergara has worked out with a personal trainer, Gunnar Peterson, who also trains Jennifer Lopez and Angelina Jolie, to stay fit. Peterson makes sure that Vergara enjoys her workouts. He has told Shape, "I try to keep it fun. I try and put a little bit of levity
in it, but at the same time, I don't sacrifice the work. We may goof
around and stuff, but we're definitely going to goof around while we're
working."

She Does Whole-Body Workouts

Peterson tells Shape that he likes to focus on whole-body workouts with Vergara, as he believes that they are more effective. "I don't do that many isolation movements, like single joint
stuff," he says. "I do bigger movements. If we're going to do a lunge,
we're probably going to add an upper body component to it, like a lunge
with a wood chop, a side lunge with a wood chop, or a rear lunge with a
lateral raise, or a forward lunge with a front raise."

Vergara told Glamour that a typical day for her includes a gym session, and she says that she likes to go after lunch, and that she has some go-to workouts. "After a quick lunch, I'll start a workout. My go-to workout is a Pilates workout on the Lagree Fitness Megaformer machine. I also mix in spinning classes for cardio a couple of times per week."

She's A Believer in Moderation

Vergara tries to live her life with balance, and is a big believer in moderation. She told FOX News that her philosophy is "Not too much food, not too much exercise, not too much anything. Everything in moderation." Vergara also said in a Celebuzz interview that she's "never been into crazy diets." She says, "I try to eat healthy because, you know, I love vegetables, I love healthy food and juices, but I'm pretty good with that. My problem has always been my obsession with sweets." Vergara also says that she loves to eat SkinnyCow desserts, because they satisfy her sweet tooth, but aren't too unhealthy.

Vergara is not one to skip out on her beauty sleep. In a Celebuzz interview, she said, "I try to sleep well because, I mean, I think it's kind of important when you do the kind of job that I do to sleep well."

Vergara has posted herself getting a mammogram on Instagram a couple of times. She captioned these posts with "You have to do it!" and "It's that time of year," respectively. It is understandable that Vergara makes sure to go to these appointments. She is a cancer survivor, and beat thyroid cancer in 2000. The American Cancer Society also recommends that women start getting regular mammograms between the ages of 40 and 45.
