"If there’s something not permanent on my face like a zit, I’ll smooth it," she told Cosmopolitan. "If I take a photo at a bad angle, I just won't post it. I don't Photoshop my body because it would feel like a false advertisement."

Sommer is serious about fitness, working out five times a week for up to 90 minutes. She spends two days on her lower body. "If my glutes are sore, I tell myself, 'I probably shouldn't work them today,' " she says. "I just listen to my body." Other than that, she mixes up her workouts. "There’s not a certain exercise or specific workout that’s beneficial," she says. "I switch it up every day and try to make it fun, because as soon as it feels like a job, you don’t want to do it."

Ray told Cosmopolitan that she eats a whopping 70 grams of protein per day to keep her glutes built. She starts the day with a protein shake and eats five more small meals throughout the day. Because Ray tries to eat 70 grams of protein a day to maintain her glute muscle mass, she starts most mornings with a protein shake, the first of six small meals throughout the day. Grilled chicken, veggies and steamed white rice is one of her go-t0 meals, but she will also indulge in In-and-Out Burger (without the bun) or turkey from Jersey Mike’s. For carbs, she eats starchy veggies and whole grains.

5. She Cheats on the Weekend

Sommer isn’t all work and no play. Occasionally she will have a drink, like tequila, or eat to her cravings. "If I want a slice of pizza, I have a slice of pizza. I want to look good, but I also want to enjoy life," she explained. “If you feel less deprived by eating that piece of cake, or burger and fries, and don’t feel you have to order one of everything off the menu, it could lead to better long-term outcomes,” says Julia Zumpano, RD, LD of the Cleveland Clinic.

When asked about body building, Sommer said: “I started when I was around 16. I grew up with it. My dad's a bodybuilder. My mom is a competitor. So actually my first show I ever did was with my mom. So yeah, started when I was 16.” She likes sharing tips online because “I love just being on there because I wanna like show girls that you can post what you want and do what you want and just embrace being you and being beautiful. Because we're all beautiful and unique in our way,” she told CTV.

2. Sometimes She Has Down Days

“I don't work out every single day. Like obviously I'm not a crazy person, but yeah. Sometimes I have days where I'm even like a bad mood and I'm down on myself. Like with things like that, people don't understand. It's like, everyone's human. I have days where I wake up and I feel disgusting and fat. And I'm like, Ew at myself, you know, I look at me, I'm like, disgusting. So we're–as girls, we just like have this, and every girl's the same. Like, it doesn't matter. [Even] the most beautiful girl in the world. Trust me. They wake up and they hate themselves some days too. It's just like life as a girl….So I have days where I'm very unmotivated and I think my body sucks … But I fight through it,” she told the Off the Pill podcast.

“How I find my motivation is, I don't look for motivation." She says it's not "Like, oh, I wanna get in shape for this pool party. Oh, I wanna get in shape, cuz I'm going on vacation. Because when that is over, you're gonna forget about working out and you don't care about working out anymore. You have to do it for a real reason that's not going to go away,” she told Off the Pill.

“I eat in moderation,” she said. “That's my thing. There's balance. Like I'm not just gonna eat cheeseburgers every day. Come Friday I'm gonna have a cheeseburger and then I'm gonna have salad. It's called balance.” As for working out: “I try to work out every day. I mean, I used to be really, really consistent, but like I'm so busy now that it's like, sometimes I get off track, but yeah. I mean, I eat what I want, but the I'm also blessed with a good metabolism because I can really eat what I want and I burn it off really quick,” she told Off the Pill.

The “best business advice is to do what you're passionate about. Because I feel like business, too, can just be doing what you love. And I feel like the most success comes from doing what you love and doing business and what you love. She says that she likes to set aside one day a week for herself. “I love to take a hot bath, moisturise, curl up in my robe, and de-stress after a busy week. And of course, hang out with my pets. I’m a huge animal fanatic and grew up on a ranch in Colorado surrounded by them, so spending as much time as possible with them is really important to me. It’s my favourite pastime."

"Growing up I struggled with acne and dry skin, so skincare has always been something that’s fascinated me,” she says. “Topical solutions just never seemed to work quite right, and I always wanted to avoid heavy medications or chemicals. She says how she likes to use a hamstring curl machine. “Instead of just lying face down and hooking my ankles behind the bar to engage the back of my legs to bring the bar towards my butt (as directed), I lie face-up with my upper back on the pad, the soles of my feet on the ground, and the bar positioned against my hips. Then, I engage my hamstrings and butt to lift my hips against the resistance until my body forms a straight line between my knees and shoulders.”
