Everything In Moderation

Chauhan doesn't follow any restrictive diets. "I believe in eating everything in moderation, but I never starve myself," she says. "I think starving and dieting are unnecessary and wrong practices. If you eat at the right time, at regular intervals, there is no reason to worry. I eat six small meals every two hours. I begin my day with a glass of fruit and vegetable juice. I also include a lot of chicken in my meals, which is a good source of proteins. I ensure that my body is hydrated at all times, and so drinking water is a must."

2

She Loves Working Out

Chauhan doesn't see exercise as a chore, but as something she looks forward to. "I enjoy working out, as it's totally refreshing," she says. "In fact, I make it a point to hit the gym at least five times a week. While three days are dedicated to weight training, the remaining two days are booked for cardio work out. I make all possible efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle."

Lots of Fresh Pineapple

Chauhan went on a special diet before filming movie 3G, and indulged in plenty of pineapple. "Pineapple is the only food known to contain bromelain, an enzyme that helps your skin and tissues heal," says Julia Zumpano, RD. "Bromelain appears to produce substances that combat in pain and swelling."

Happy Hormones

Chauhan works out for both mental and physical benefits. "I would work out for 5 days a week for an hour," she says. "I think every person deserves that much time for themselves. When we hit the gym, then besides physical fitness, we achieve mental fitness as well. It has been scientifically proven that when you exercise, your body produces happy hormones."

5

Baths and Spa Time

Chauhan knows the importance of self-care. "After a long day of work I love listening to music," she says. "It instantly energizes me and the stress and fatigue vanishes in no time. Besides this, a nice relaxing bath does the trick too. Sometimes, I even go to a spa for a body massage. It is absolutely de-stressing."
