She Does A Variety Of Workouts Each Day

When it comes to fitness, Kapoor tries to get some movement in on each day. She also likes to do a variety of workouts. "I try and exercise for two hours a day," she says to Vogue. "I do a mix of Pilates, yoga, dancing, and weight training." "Muscle burns more calories at rest than fat explains strength and athletic trainer Tom Iannetta, ATC, CSCS. Lots more! Ten pounds of muscle burns 50 calories at rest, whereas 10 pounds of fat burns 20 calories. She Avoids Junk Food

Kapoor is a healthy eater. She tells Vogue that while she isn't on any strict diet, she does aim to avoid junk food. "I try not to eat junk, but I'm not overtly strict with my diet. The one thing I avoid consciously is sugar." "If burgers, French fries and greasy breakfast sandwiches become centerpieces of your diet, they could take a serious toll on your health. Unhealthy diets increase your chances of developing depression, cancer, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and other chronic conditions," says the Cleveland Clinic.

She Asked Her Mother For Help

When Kapoor wanted to lose weight, she turned to her mother for guidance. She tells The Times Of India, "In all fairness, it was my mother who helped me get rid of my excess weight. The first thing she did was to keep me off the stuff I was so fond of as a teenager- chocolates, ice creams, fried foods and sweets."

She Does Pilates

In this Instagram video from Kapoor's trainer, Radhika Kalre, the actress is seen doing Pilates. Kalre explains why Kapoor loves Pilates in the caption, writing, "Sonam Kapoor suffers from a very bad case of De Quervain's tendinosis, which occurs when the tendons around the base of the thumb are irritated or constricted. The word "tendinosis" refers to a swelling of the tendons. This causes pain and tenderness along the thumb side of the wrist. Sonam has decided to beat this condition and has seen the best form of exercise has been pilates !! By putting gentle pressure on the wrist and strengthening the forearm muscles, Sonam Kapoor has now been pain-free for sometime!"

She Works Out Her Legs

In an interview with Vogue, Kalre revealed some of her favorite exercises she does with Kapoor. Kalre says that they don't skip leg day because of the actress' hip issues. "When Sonam came to me first, she had hip issues, and we've overcome that very well through exercise," says Kalre. "Due to family issues of knee pain, we wanted to prevent that from the get-go. Two of my favourite moves with Sonam are, supine leg pools on the trapeze table, and side-line leg work on the reformer."
