1. Dancing Queen

Rodes is an accomplished dancer and yogi. “I love dancing and I’ve been passionate about it since I was a child,” she says. “So of course, it makes up a big part of my fitness routine. And I also regularly practice yoga. I’m not a fan of going to the gym, and I don’t think it’s a necessity for your fitness. Any physical activity, be it dancing, swimming, yoga, can help you stay fit.”

2. Freshly Made Guacamole

One of Rode’s favorite snacks is freshly-made guacamole and chips. “High fiber diets have been lauded for lowering blood sugar, cutting cholesterol, and potentially preventing some kinds of cancer—like colon cancer,” says dietitian Charlotte Roberts. “The recommended daily intake of fiber is 25 grams a day for women and 35 grams for men, with most of us falling short of those goals. Avocado packs about 1 gram per tablespoon, with around 10 grams in an entire fruit.”

3. Happy On the Inside

Rodes makes a point of focusing on her inner happiness as well as her outer beauty. “Your body reflects how you feel on the inside,” she says. “Smiling and all is great, but being happy and satisfied from within, doing things for yourself, all of that just add to your glow. If you’re internally happy, you’ll glow externally. just internally keeping your soul clean and happy; that should be the first step. So, whatever it is that makes you happy, you should pursue that. It could be the smallest of things.”

4. Fermented Foods

5. Paddle Boarding

Rodes enjoys paddle boarding in the fresh air and sunshine. “Exercising in natural environments has been shown to have greater benefits for mental health than exercising elsewhere,” says Sergio Diez Alvarez, Director Of Medicine, The Maitland and Kurri Kurri Hospital, University of Newcastle. “This is because it combines the benefits of exercise with the restorative effects of being in nature. Swimming in the ocean is no less the case. It can be relaxing, meditative and reduce stress. In his 2014 book Blue Mind, marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols brought together evidence for why people find themselves in a meditative and relaxed state when they are in, on or under water.”
