Stephanie Gilmore is one of the most successful female surfers of all time. She's currently appearing in Stellar Magazine. Gilmore posted some highlights from the shoot on Instagram. In them, she posed with her board wearing different outfits. She captioned the post, "Interview out today in the Sunday papers." How does she stay so fit? She's Always Trying To Get Better

Gilmore has had a lot of success in surfing. Body + Soul asked her what she thinks has helped get her there. She answered, "I think always knowing there's room for improvement and working hard to progress have been important. Also just smiling along the way.

She Eats Healthy

Gilmore revealed her typical meals to Body + Soul. She says that she eats pretty healthy. "I start the day with a smoothie, greens, banana, coconut water, dates…That kind of thing. Then after a surf, I'll have eggs and avocado on a sourdough or with quinoa. Lunch I try to have a salad with protein, something fresh and colourful. And dinner is sautéed veggies, rice and a nice piece of freshly seasoned salmon."

She Works Out In Several Different Locations

Gilmore does a lot of traveling. However, she's able to work out no matter where she is.  "My approach changes depending on where I am in the world," she says to House of Wellness. "If I'm home, I work out with my trainer and we do a lot of balance work, plyometrics and sprints, which is insanely good cardio building for competitive surfing."

She Does A Variety Of Workouts

Gilmore tells AModrn that she does a lot of different things to workout. "I normally spend up to two hours in the gym with my trainer. We focus on cross-training, but mix it up with bodyweight exercises, cardio as well as core strength. It just depends on my goals at the time in regards to surfing. Lately, we've been doing a lot of hill sprints because surfing requires explosive movements."

She Eats Produce

Gilmore tells House of Wellness that she loves produce. "My general rule is keep it local and in season. I try to follow this no matter where I'm touring around the world as it makes a big difference to the quality of food you're consuming."
