Henson is Working Out With Mike T

Henson has been working out with celebrity trainer Mike T, who specializes "in leveraging each component of physical fitness to provide excellence in body sculpting, strength training, endurance training, and group fitness." Their promotion includes workouts designed by him for Taraji P. Henson, and also includes a 30-Day Challenge with daily workout regimens, exclusive access to videos and diet and nutrition tips—plus it can be home at home or in the gym.

Henson Said It's OK to Need Help

Henson keeps mentally fit, also, and allows herself to be vulnerable. "It's OK to need help. It's OK to not know what to do next. All of that is OK. It's OK if you're tired and you don't want to do it today. 'I don't feel like adulting today. I'm tired,' you know?" she told Coveteur. "Most times, because we're too busy trying to be strong, we haven't even been able to identify when we're in crises because we're used to operating like that," Henson said.

Henson Meditates

"The first thing I do when I wake is meditate," she told The Cut. "I try to set my mind right. I try to tell myself that no matter what, today is going to be a good day, so when those curve balls come, I'm not taken by surprise. I can tell the days I don't meditate, because I pop off. Things aggravate me."

She Treats Her Tummy Right

"I try to do my proteins. When I want a salt taste, I'll do boiled eggs with my fermented vegetables. When I want a sweet taste, I'll grab a Special K protein bar or protein shake. I just want to make healthier choices. I had a health scare and I want to live. My health scare came from me not eating right. You think just because you're small and you work out that everything is coming up roses, until you take a look inside. There are so many things that we eat that are bad for us — hormones in animals — that affect you. Coffee on an empty stomach — who knew it could kill you? I know now," she told the Cut.

This is What Wellness Means to Her

"It means taking care of your mind, body, and soul. You can't have one without the other. Physical health starts here [points to head]. If you believe you're sick, you'll be sick. If you believe 'I can beat that thing,' then you'll heal because your body can heal itself. But you have to be nice to it," she told the Cut.
